Great location, very original and cosy rooms, walls are thin yes, but you know that beforehand, and the village is worth it!

Very nice location - although we had to walk quiet a bit. Rooms are a little bit small - but this depends on the room you choose. Staff is friendly. The hostel has two giant dogs. I think they are too big for the place.

This place was nice, and Shaxi was quite pretty. The staff were overall quite friendly and helpful. A good value for the price. The fleece blankets on the bed were dirty and full of somebody else's hair (so we just used the comforters and threw the fleece blankets aside; but it would have been nice to be able to use them because it was February and the rooms were cold; but we were warm enough with the electric blankets on the beds). Hint: Don't buy anything in Shaxi; townfolk rip you off!

The only disadvanted was, that we couldn't lock our doors, but in the room there was a huge locker so everything could be put inside. The walls are partly wooden - so it was quite chilly in the morning - but every bed has an electric blanket, so that's ok. The bikes for rent(20yuan per day) are in a pretty bad condition but still ok to be used for biking around the villages. I'd stay again for sure!

This was a wonderful hostel with charming and informative staff. The family dinner on offer is wonderful. I would easily spend a week in this interesting area with charming hosts.
