Lockers in the room were broken which was quite annoying but everything else about this hostel was great. Awesome energy about the place!
Its nos worth the price at all, especially if you get the dorms from the old building like room 1. It was in a basement were the bathrooms were and the smell was horrible. The beds really old and could use some painting. And its annoying that they ask you for your deposit money for a foundation. Its the way they do it, you have to say yes.
Joint toilets and showers in the main building are not up to standards of st Christopher's. Cold and to high pressure as well as little privacy. In the other block however quite nice so would recommend taking shower over there. No time limiters in that block either. No lock on luggage room door either and can walk straight off street into room, lockers available but at charge. Bar has good atmosphere, but not a great menu, only pizzas.

Beds are brilliant, comfortable and have curtains and power points this makes being in a large dorm really easy. Breakfast is a great bonus. Bar is cool especially when Belgium are playing in the soccer. Wifi is top notch. The staff are very friendly!
Great girl on reception. Showers could be cold, and had to press the button repeatedly to use. Great pub. Breakfast packed. Big clean warm bedroom. Great walking tour with Jimmy.
Nice hostel, rooms okay, sink in them. Bathrooms average, showers ok but only a couple of toilets and they’re just off the bar, just a bit off. Two main issues however that mean I wouldn’t stay here again, no powerpoints near the beds, only two powerpoints in a 8 bed dorm, really not good enough these days. Also no wifi in the rooms. Fairly small lockers. If there was nothing else, a couple of days would be fine, but too many inconveniences. Staff were great.
The hostel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel itself is an older type hostel which needs a good make over.. I booked using a link from the YHA site thinking the place followed YHA standards. I expect hostels to provide cooking facilities...that is why we stay at them. There is no kitchen only a microwave. However the hostel offers good service on tours and travel advice.

Location of the hostel is good. Close to parking facilities and 5 minute walk to Markt. Staff does not speak Dutch, none of those I met. So no local tips or atmosphere. They were also a bit unorganized and breakfast was already done at 10.00 Rooms were clean, but shower was clogged and water went everyhere. So basic, but ok for the money you pay. And decent location.
We really liked their "cubicle dorms". You have your privacy when traveling alone but not very handy when traveling in group. They serve really good breakfast comparing to other hostels in Belgium.
Had a nice time at this hostel. The bar was bumping every night and there were a lot of people from different locations. Staff was friendly and it was pretty easy to meet new people. Showers/restrooms are a little on the small side and the rooms are a little outdated, but the place has a nice vibe.
I liked this hostel because was a great experience in all senses. Since the first moment I was attended with perfect kindness, in particular the receptionist Sara , who always helped me when I needed it. Also, the atmosphere that was breathed there was great, would definitely. Perhaps the only downside was that the bathroom on my floor was broken during the last day.
They kinda "make" you donate your deposit, I don't like this way.
Great experience, great location, great atmosphere. Very professional, friendly, great price. Beds, pillows, mattresses need to be updated. But other then that one complaint wonderful place. Breakfast was amazing as well. Thank you!
to be honest, it was the worst hostel i have ever stayed. its far from city center. one of staff was very rude, he made mistake but he never appolosized. but the others were very kind. breakfast wasnt good, especially bread should be changed to another one. but there are light and electric plug each bed. it was good, but wifi didnt work well in the room.

This place is fine for one or two nights but not any longer. The common area is a bar that is open to the public and the only means of eating an evening meal is buying a pizza from the bar or using the microwave to cook whatever you can find in the local supermarket. There are no bins in the bar and if you want cutlery or water you'll have to ask. The under bed lockers and curtains at the beds are good but really anti social. It claims to have a laundry but it's a laundrette on the same street.
I made so many friends at this hostel which was due to the great way in which the bar is laid out. It is really easy to meet people. The staff were fantastic. The assistant manager was really helpful. The bar manager was really good at anticipating peoples needs and very friendly. The room I wwas in could use an upgrade. However, apparently they are in the process of doing so. Overall, had a good experience at this hostel.
I think the price is fair. It's a good tradeoff between benefits and price. However, I think you should provide towells and not rent them.
