We were put in some sort of strange attic room with no privacy (a whole wall was just windows with no curtains!!!), no locks, and no way to escape the smell of people smoking outside the property's door. If we had been given the room advertised, our stay would've been much more pleasant.

The owner was nearly two hours late, and we were not able to check in when we were supposed to since she had to attend to some other persons who were going to check in at another place. We asked her if we could check in later since we were going to meet friends for dinner which she said was ok. When we came back it was hard to get in touch with her and when she finally turned up we got a room that we hadn't booked and which was filthy!! I believ it belonged to a person who actually lived there.

The location and facilities in this hostel was very good. It was also interesting that the owner made all the furnitures there. However, if you are traveling with some older people who are not very mobile, this is not the place for you. It's like a ninja house. You have to climb up cabinets, go through trapdoors to access a few of the rooms (that I was able to see), so even if you are confident climbing is not a problem, then consider your luggage as well. Otherwise, everything was great here

The hostel was very hard to find. We got lost even with a map, and had to call the hostel for directions. The reception area was very cramped, as was the rest of the hostel. Our 4 person room was in a different building, and the only lock was a small padlock that the lady gave us the code in front of other guests. Our room was 90% bed and had no space to walk around. We had to crawl on the bed to get anywhere. The bathroom was disgusting and the doors were broken, so there wasn't much privacy.

Thank you for having me, Cindy, I met nice people and really enjoyed Ximen.

No drinkable water on premises, and only 2 showers for the entire place. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great location and good directions to get there. Soft beds. Frig. Unique decor. Look forward to trying the other 2
