Aor the owner and her father are very special people. If you are looking for a place that is traditional Thai house you willl have found it herel. Not only is Aor (or) the sweetest lady on earth but they treat you like royalty. The food was excellent and there was always something to eat at the open air kitchen. Our only problem was we only booked for two nights and she was full the rest of the time. There is not a pool, but very nice accomodations. The beds are traditional but comfy.

With over a month in Asia, this was my favourite place to stay. It was full of character, a peaceful haven in a busy city, and Aor was so welcoming and helpful that I really looked forward to going back there.

Tanita house is a set of antique bungalows made in the traditional thai style. It was absolutely GORGEOUS, there was free internet, free water/tea/coffee/bacon and eggs for breakfast, and Aoy was super helpful for anything we wanted. The place is amazing and I would love to go back. We actually wanted to change our plans to stay there longer, but they were booked up.

Outstanding guest house, which is run by the nicest staff we've ever met. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy, clean and well equipped place to stay in Chiang Mai, this is it! Rooms are very nice, and the beautiful yard of the guest house is a perfect place to relax after spending a buzy day downtown (which is within 20 minute walking distance, or 5 minutes by taxi or tuktuk). Aor (the manager) takes great care of her guests, and makes sure that you don't miss anything. Good breakfast included.

Excellent host, Aor - is very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast to fill you up for the day as well as free water/juice/yoghurt all day round are pleasant compliments. Easy to organize any tours/transportation and the restaurant she suggested for dinner just next to the hostel was my best authentic meal in Thailand!

WOW! This place is great. The breakfast still makes me excited! (Make sure you have the musli) Aor is a fantastic host, there is nothing to much for her. Even I had to change my accommodation (I was meeting a friend who could not afford to stay at Tanita) & Aor drove me to the hostel. It is a quiet part of town on the river but it's not to far to walk into the main tourist / shopping parts of town. There are some great restaurants nearby. The bungalows are really lovely. Highly recommend here.

An absolutely beautiful place to stay, cleanliness is second to none, staff are lovely people and Aor is so helpful and will go out of her way to ensure you have everything you want. We stayed three nights which wasn't long enough but plan on going back next year for a much longer stay. Value for money is exceptional. Beautiful, beautiful place. Thank you Aor, see you next year and will return the books!! Pat and Naomi.

I stayed with a friend at Tanita house for 3 nights. It was such a delightful guesthouse. The owner, Aor was so helpful, friendly and accommodating!! The hostel is slightly out of the old city, but a walkable distance, or $2-3US for a tuk tuk ride. Rooms were very charming and clean. Would definitely recommend staying here!!

Aor was was extremely welcoming and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. I bought a last minute souvenirs which was a bit too big to take on the plane. Aor was very helpful in arranging the postage and packaging, far more than you would normally expect from a guesthouse.

I really loved this place. It had a lot of character. Basically you are living in these modernized wooden villas. which are super cute. But what made this experience so amazing was Aor. She was a wonderful host and ever so helpful. I loved staying at her guest house and would definitely stay there again in a heart beat. The only complaint I had was the hot water showers were not as hot as I would have liked. But other than that, the stay was perfect.

Absolutely stunning place - we couldn't believe just how pretty it was! As well as our beautiful hut there was both a private and communal outdoor seating area with free (quality) tea/coffee with real milk(!), water and juices all day long. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The power blew in our hut and so the owner refunded our money and paid for us to stay nearby for the remainder of our stay - far beyond the kindness I've experienced anywhere else - THANK YOU!
