Very pretty wooden interiors throughout, cheap beer (Y8), pool table and free computer facilities. The staff (when there) spoke good english and were very helpful, however considering most people visiting Emei Shan are planning on visiting MT Emei and more often than not are going to start before 10am, it seemed silly having a local porter whom was not able to take a simple breakfast order; let alone answering last minute questions on Emei. No lockers or WIFI provided in rooms.

located next to the bus-station to Mt.Emei and the departure of some long distance routes, but unfortunatly not for arrival from Chengdu; there seems to be a pick-up service from Teddy-Bear-Hotel, but was not mentioned on the booking confirmation; most staff is friendy and keen to help you (with one exeption);

Great movie watching facilities, great map (we met someone with distances and times marked on the map which makes it better), the bus station was trying to not sell us a one way ticket (i.e. they wanted to rip us off) so we got them to phone the hostel who made sure we only paid one way. Only problem was mozzies. Would be better if they could have more protection against them.

We'd booked the basic twin room (the cheapest private room), but when we turned up they didn't have any of these rooms available. However, that worked to our advantage as we were upgraded to the next room for free: a huge ensuite room with a welcome hot shower. Despite there being lots of places to eat nearby (with English menus) we opted to eat in the hotel as it was convenient: portions were huge & it was tasty although the heat levels had been toned down. The staff helped us plan our walk.

Hostel lacked a bit of character (perhaps as the hostel was not very busy). Rooms do not lock automatically, no lockers in room and internet was a little ordinary (however this seems to be a common thing across China). Other than that, this hostel was great and I would stay there again. Andy has a brilliant map of Mt Emei. is worth staying there for this map alone (it is in A3 - you might have to ask especially for "Andy's map")

Pretty decent place to stay before or after your visit to the mountain, but I would recommend you stay on the mountain when hiking. The staff was helpful and gave us some useful information on the routes we could take. Rooms were clean but they loose a few points for the cockroach that came crawling out of the airco.

Great base for starting the Emei Shan climb. They provide a really helpful map and tips on the climb. Rooms ok, we paid for an upgrade to one of the nicer rooms as the basic room had a window into th enoisy kitchen. Good cineam room.

Western food is not very good.Very oily,and quite expensive.The extremely touristic Lijiang seemed to much cheaper for food.The hotel is in a very good postition to access Emei Shan.
