It was a shame that the room felt unclean, specially the bathroom. Other than that, it is a nice place to be with a living room, a bar/pool room and a dining room that are just pleasant to relax and chat. The good thing about the room was the bed, as I was able to sleep very well, thanks to a (surprisingly) very good mattress. Finally, I felt the staff was nice and welcoming.

The staff is very friendly, the location is really great and Lisdoonvarna is a charming small village. Go for a beer in the nearest pub (try their craft beer).

Lisdoonvarna was an adorable little town - the local pub was within walking distance and it is a short drive to the Doolin pier for boats to the Aran Islands or Cliffs of Moher. The staff was friendly and the hostel was gorgeous. Highly recommended if you are in the area!

Stumbled across this cosy hostel while looking for accommodation for a Burren hiking trip. It used to be a hotel so is full of personality and charm. I spent a lovely evening there sitting reading by the open fire. Peter at reception has a wealth of local knowledge and shared with me some of the special places to visit in the area. Great location and great value...I will go again for sure :))

It looks like a hotel when you first walk in, very nice. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfy. My favorite was sitting by the fireplace in the living room after a day hiking at the cliffs (which are a short distance away from the hostel). There's a wonderful little pub not even two minutes down the road that has amazing food and a great atmosphere. My friend and I drove there so when we left we were told to follow a road by the sea which was STUNNING. I highly recommend this Hostel to all!

I had such a fun time at Burren Hostel. They were incredibly sweet and one of the nicer hostels I've stayed in during my travels. I would definitely go back.

This was a great Hostel. The staff was very helpful, nice and willing to accommodate us. We came in March, and it was still a little cold and the rooms were a bit chilly. They gave us tips for the area and when I forgot my toiletry bag they sent it as soon as possible, which I was very grateful for. All in all a great experience at the Burren Hostel!

It's placed in a lovely town and you feel like in a Hotel! The kitchen is very cold, and there isn't many facilities to cook (cutlery, pan pot). The staff is very helpful and friendly. I want to go back there every vacations.

Really nice rooms, very clean with nice bathroom(private room), used to be a hotel, so well furnished. I was there when it was very cold in Ireland, heating didn't work, nearly froze in my bed. It sure is a nice place to stay, but better only when it is warmer. Environment absolutely calm and beautiful, not too far away from the Cliffs of Moher. Staff was really friendly, talked with me in the TV Room. The only disadvantage: no breakfast in price included, so not that good value.

My stay at the Burren Hostel was my first experience of a hostel, I was very surprised at how homely it was. Its level of cleanness was impeccably and the heat in the rooms was much welcomed after a long day rock climbing. I will most definitely be staying again & next time I'll bring my husband & 3 kids as it's as good as a hotel.
