Pros: Extremely friendly staff, nice multiple lounge areas, free towels, workable kitchen, HUGE fridge, fire place, computer for use, very lovely in general. Good backyard for laying in with flowers. Cons: No wi-fi in bedrooms, problems with hot water, limited bus times for the Cliffs of Moher, which are 6.5 miles from the hostel. There are other hostels much closer to the Cliffs of Moher. No ATM in town but can get cash back from a store after buying $10 worth and a $3 fee.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi Jennifer Thanks for your feedback and 5/5 ratings in all categories except location. We are in fact the nearest hostel to The Cliffs of Moher - as you would expect nothing at all is built right at the Cliffs. The lack of ATM in the town of Lisdoonvarna is an inconvenience but unfortunately beyond our control. We believe our location directly across the road from great pub food, great live traditional music, The Burren Smokehouse with some of the best salmon in Ireland ; easy access to The Cliffs and all other places in North and West Clare makes it up for that relatively minor inconvenience. Thanks again. The Burren Hostel

A former hotel changed into a hostel. Nothing more to say than: it is actually the best hostel I've been to! Huge kitchen, magnificent dining and living rooms, lovely staff... We adored it!
