The Chocolate Five star Hostel and Crew House Reviews

I LOVE the Chocolate Hostel!! It was comfortable there, the rooms are clean & spacious & feel homey. I met a bunch of cool ass people from all over the world and we hit up the beach - which was not a bad walk - and had too much fun hanging out at the hostel all night. The staff is just as fun and interesting as the guests staying there and couldn't be nicer. *CARL especially keeps everything rollin' at the hostel, Mia, Sebastian and Chelsea are helpful & entertaining. I can't wait to go back!!

Great place to stay. In the heart of Ft Lauderdale 6 mins from the beach 6mins from Downtown. Great location and the staff was excellent.

The room looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in a month, and the garbage can's where floating over. The bathtub was clogged, and it was really disgusting!

The outdoor area looks so sad and dumpy i almost turned and walked out--it needs a major face lift. inside facilities are great, except the girls living there were slobs. staff showed up half our late to afternoon shift when i wanted to check in, but woman was accommodating when she did appear. towels should be a standard item at the hostel--this is the first i've ever been too where advertised "linens" didn't include one.

Near a busy highway 4 km from the beach . The receptionist was hungover ?at least not much help until lunchtime . The apartment style was OK except that those in my room left piles of dishes in the sink and mess on the floor ,bins were full and smelling . He seemed incapable of communication . I did not go there to be someones mother . At least in hostel style you can mind your own business ,not in an apartment style .I guess the 5 star or slum depends on who is in your room and who is on

Been here for three week and I like it here. Close to everything and spes to my Bikram yoga, 550 m. From the nice hostel. Sebastian and Mia,Carlito and one nice girl more run the hostel well. I might extend even a few weeks more. Good place...

This place should be named the Chocolate "NO STAR" HOSTEL. Now I understand why they make so many horror movies with a Hostel theme. I left early with plenty of notice and they refused to return my money. I will definitely be contacting the Better Business Bureau and any other agency for any legal remedy.

The management does not give a f%$# about their customers. A poor girl was robbed. A guy was bashed. Drug addicts stay there. They have no programs for tourists.The website pictures are obviously from when it was just built and it now is run down and nothing like the website. Had to get the hell out of there.

Very nice manager! It's a great location, close to the beaches and downtown and the mall with small stores. It's a good place to meet people and make friends. It's kept clean, no problem with bugs. The price is great, you don't get luxury but you definitely get your money's worth here in South Florida.

I have a split experience with this hostel. One thing you must remember is that since it does have a lot of yacht crew living there, it can feel like a combination of a community and a frat house. I had problems with three guests, including one of my roommates. On the other hand, as long as you don't cause trouble, the people tend to treat you like family(even if it is a highly dysfunctional one). Rooms were nice enough, and I had no real complaints except water pressure. Worth the money.

worst hostel every more like half way house for drunks

I stayed here for 2 nights in October 2011. Good : Close to FLL Airport, Friendly Staff, easy to meet people,, close to Downtown, the beach and Port Everglades. Getting there : Arriving flights from FLL Airport : 1. Take a bus to the RCC (Rental Car center), 2. Take bus number 1, northound from the RCC, departs from platform 7 3. Exit the bus at 16th st,, and walk one block around the corner. Bad : Could be cleaner Not possible to get to FLL Airport early on sundays with public transport

Nice enough place, pretty clean with a weekly housekeeping for each unit. The hostel was most likely apartments in a previous life, so that each unit has its own ktichen & bath for 5-6 ppl vs. common kitchen/bath like at most hostels. Do love this feature for sure.

Good atmosphere in the garden / courtyard. Could be cleaner. People are generally around from about mid-day till the early morning. It depends how picky you are to whether you will enjoy your stay! Helpful staff, good location and a good price! - You get what you pay for.

Note to travelers: This Hostel charges $2 more then they are willing to tell you online. Also, if you are looking for a youth hostel, the scene here is more like a shelter or halfway house then a college campus.

It was incerdible, ive now booked a few more days i have been made to feel so comfortable. The atmosphere was awesome from the start, great staff, awesome room and very clean. Great internet which makes things very easy.

Had a great time here and met alot of equally cool people, throughly enjoyed my time and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Fort Lauderdale. Originally booked two nights but stayed a week. Thankyou Chocolate!

Very nice place. Locks are a little stiff though.
