Cranky Croc is a bit pricey for what it offers, but well-located and you can take an awesome walking tour with Freddy straight from the hostel Monday-Friday at 3 pm. Highly recommend the tour!

Great place to stay, highly recommended. By far the cleanest and best maintained bathrooms I've seen in months, which was a very pleasant experience. Everything else is good as can be, comfortable beds, free towel included, nice atmosphere, good location. Try the bakery just down the street, delicious fresh pastries every morning, highly recommended.

We ended up staying here again on our return to Bogota ... it was like coming home. We started and.ended our trip here and we loved it both times. Great spot. Clean and safe and the staff were all so sweet and welcoming. The security guard at night was so good to us out first night - he escorted us down to the nearest place to grab a bite to eat as we got in late, were starving and spike very little Spanish. It was a great start to an amazing trip!!

Very clean place. Great showers and toilets. Good bed. Quiet place to sleep and nice atmosfere to meet people. Good location in central area, close to most interesting places. A little dangerous to go out alone at night, but it is ok if you go by taxi or in group of people.

Great that lockers had chargers, location in la candalaria is good, but loads of dodgy characters around that area. Staff a bit rude at times - when asking nicely for a bottle of water at the front counter, was basically shouted at to go away and come back in 20 minutes until they finished their accounts. Weird.... Breakfast nice and relatively inexpensive. Rooms nice and spacious.

Good place to go, lots of social events and tours starting either at the hostel or very close by. Staff a friendly, helpful and have good English. Atmosphere is an odd thing to rate- as it generally depends on the other guests! But a great one nonetheless. Food and drink offered at the hostel is a mixture of quality and value, some a little more prices than locally. Rooms could do with slightly better lighting, but have good lockers and plenty of plugs and the beds are, well, a dream.

One of the cleanest hostels I've been too. Great vibe from the staff & fellow travellers. Lots of activities at night to bring people together. The party bus was a good time, though a bit expensive. Take advantage of the cuba libres on the bus, because the clubs prices are ridiculous!

Loved this place! Best showers I've had in a long time, staff so lovely and helpful (shouts out to Freddy), super social hostel and super close to heaps of things.

I stayed at the Cranky Croc for five nights and it was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Comfy beds, perfect location, super clean and nice showers and toilets, great common area with AMAZING and cheap breakfasts in the mornings and nice big security lockers in the rooms. Great social atmosphere and easy to meet people. Only down side for me was the wifi - decent in the common area but non-existent in the bed rooms and cut in and out a lot. this is it's only downside however!

The staff are hopeless! I was overcharged for my stay and so was the girl I left with. We were also charged 27,000 for a private car to the airport but he didn't even drop us off at the right airport! A yellow cab will not cost any more than 25,000 and would take you to where you're going.

The double room with bathroom was great - large with nice furnishings. It's an old building so you can hear noise from other rooms a bit. Good facilities including bar.

The hostel was always very clean. They have a great common area as well where everyone is very social and gathers before going out. Staff are also super helpful as well and will be able to assist you with whatever you need. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Bogota.
