Hard to find. Need a sign at the entrance to Gang XIX to say Island Hotel. Took my son 2 hours to find it. Internet is excellent therefore every guest has their head down and on their phone. Rooms are well decked out with comfy beds. Great hot showers, daily maid service. The breakfast that is included is a bit small but you can buy good value add ons. Even porridge with milk and brown sugar. Great cafe area and pool. Staff are very helpful and kind. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

I stayed one night here in a private room after spending most of my time in hostels. The hostel was quite lovely but I felt there was definitely a social vibe lacking here. Perhaps due to the low season? I only found about a handful of people hanging out in the social area and most of the time people were reading their books on their own. If you are looking to go out and party, then this is not the place for you. It's more for peace and tranquility.

I was satisfied. Nice pool, clean and comfortable beds. I would come here again

Nice cafe lounge area and dorm rooms but the smell of the drains in the shared shower room was disgusting.

I was there 2 times, 7 nights in total. This place has all the conditions to be great, but in my opinion it is been bad managed. They really need to put some effort and try to organize some events (pool parties, happy hours, bbq, excursions during the day, ...) so that people get together more easily and the hostel keep a good vibe; otherwise they will be closed in the not so far future. Right now the hostel is too quiet many days and people start to move to other hostels earlier.

A bit out the way, the taxi driver found it hard to find. You can not drive down the alley - But it is a short-ish walk from the road. It was clean, and shower was pretty good. If you want to be away from the madness, this place would be good for you.

Met a great group of people as soon as I arrived and made the experience amazing. It's a cool spot within a short walk to the beach. Wasn't impressed with the staff.

The bar was closed at 21:30, i was alone (female), and it's not safe (like a dark small street) to walk by myself to get a drink somewere. When i want to have breakfast/lunch, the bar was closed again (11till13). That's fine, but confirm your guest by check-in. There's realy no atmosphere, chairs by swimming pool where horrible to sit in and mouses are playing around. Rooms are looking old and the bed (linnen) and towels were not clean (or old, that it don't go out anymore).

The island was definitely one of the best hostels i ever stayed at. Atmosphere here is tops. Met amazing people. Not mentioning that the rooms, beds, and showers are top notch! 👌🏼

Really nice hostel, good pool and roof deck. I stayed in the big dorm which was really nice, comfy beds and I was in the corner so had a lot of privacy. However the entrance to the hostel is always open and the doors into the big dorm are swing doors that don't have any kind of lock. You do get given a locker but they don't feel the most sturdiest of lockers. It's quite far from the main bit of Kuta and down an alleyway which didn't make me feel that safe at night. Hostel is quiet and not busy.

the hostel was impossible to fine for a visitor. Should put a better map on website. So people can have a copy. Sign on street may help since not everyone from Bali. Taxi driver could not even find this spot with the map from hostel. Far from center of Kuta, which is fine. Bathroom looked little scary. Food was great, room was fine for price, enjoyed pool. Check in lady was not there at 2 pm. Oh well, I did not wait too long. I felt secure and safe

Everything fine but probably the filthiest bathroom I've encountered in any hostel!

Island Hotel has a great facility with a pool, rooftop hangout area, and good public spaces to hang and meet people. The private rooms were very clean with a good shower. As far as location, there's a lot of restaurants, ATMS, and places to go out in the area. But if you're looking to hang in the nicer area of Seminyak, you may want to opt for a place closer since it's a taxi or scooter ride to get there and there can be a lot of traffic. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Always pleasant to stay here. Funky Monkey is slightly better for meeting people, but this is nicer and more relaxing.

Geniales Hostel! Sehr geräumige Schlafsäle. Klasse Pool! Mehr Hotel als Hostel. Würde sofort wieder buchen!

The hostel is quite good located, just a 10 minutes walk to Kuta Beach. The pool is very clean and the breakfast extremely delicious. (Fresh fruits, pancakes with bananas, freshly squeezed orange juice... a perfect start into the day!) BUT unfortunately we had a huge problem with mold in the bathroom. The smell was so intensive (odd and wet), that our bedroom was totally infiltrated with the scent. It was so bad, that we're afraid getting sick of it. No way. We wouldn't stay there again.

Fantastic hostel! The layout makes it feel like you're in a 4-bed room, not 12. Great social atmosphere.
