One of our favourite hostels of the trip. Not at all down to the facilities in the rooms (beds, showers and lockers weren't the best) but rather the excellent atmosphere, great rooftop bar and a great location. Would recommend it to anyone wanting the backpackers experience, but maybe not to those who just want a calm and quiet stay.

Very much a 'party hostel' so was really good place to meet people. Pool was a bit gross and some of the staff weren't overly helpful but clean dorms and good location.

Great social hostel in the heart of Siem Reap. Offer a variety of tours including an informative Tuktuk tour of Angkor Watt. Rooftop bar is a great place to grab a bite to eat and to start your night out before walking into town. Rooms are clean and bathroom facilities are ok. Nice pool area and a great place to meet people.

Great rooftop bar! Lots of great tours and of course a swimming pool for when you want to relax !

Although the hostel has a lot to offer, including a rooftop terrace, a nice pool, and being within walking distance to the main areas in Siem Reap (Pub Street and Night Market), I have to criticize the hygienic standards harshly. All bathrooms I've seen were incredibly dirty, old and broken sanitary installations (two full days without water in one of the dorms) etc. The atmosphere and setting are amazing, but please do the bathrooms!

Great hostel! I was traveling alone and met great people immediately because of the pool. The bar is fun and cheap and the rooms are spacious and clean. I will definitely stay here again if I'm backpacking in siem reap again!

Had a fantastic time at Mad Monkey. The pool was great for hanging out during the day. They've got all kinds of great bar specials. Very social!

Very cool place with pool area and rooftop bar, location was good and room was nice. A bit problems with bathroom, drain was stuck or something. Definitely party hostel not for those who are looking for peace and quiet.

Awesome place to stay - it has everything you need, pool, bar, food, tours and is close to all the action. I was traveling solo and met people instantly. The staff there are also very cool!

Loved the place!! Had the best time and met some great people. The rooftop bar had great food and a great vibe at night. We met some fabulous people here. Close to pub street and night market. The staff are very friendly and very helpful! We had a private room, and it was basic and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again!

We loved the beautiful pool and bar at the mad monkey-they were so much fun and if you're under 30 years old it's definitely the place to be in Siem Reap! Amazing cheap food and drinks! However, I am absolutely terrified of cockroaches, and of course I expected them in Southeast Asia, but having a huge one in our room was very unpleasant. The staff killed it right away but I wasn't comfortable. Also bad wifi and semi dirty bathrooms. Stay here anyway. It was, ultimately, still an amazing place.

The hostel is pretty cool for partying and if you don't feel like it they also provide earplugs. The top bar is great and the swimming pool is a relieve from the heat. Beers are a bit expensive but it is worth it. Location is excellent. Just don't buy any tours or bus tickets with them. They overcharge A LOT. Not a little bit more, but like 40% on top of real value if you go book else where.

We had a great time at the Mad Monkey, a lively hostel in a great location and with very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and good value for money and the rooftop bar, food and swimming pool were an added bonus! Only issue we had was booking to temples via the hostel reception and would advise anyone to also enquire outside of the hostel for cheaper prices. Overall a very pleasant stay

Fantastic place to stay as a young person; great pool, cheap drinks, close to the centre of town, the bar on the roof is incredible and the most buzzing place in town! The staff are really helpful and they organise trips and buses etc. Definitely the place to stay in Siem Reap!

Room was not ready on arrival despite afternoon checkin, loud and noisy at all times of day and night, room was dirty, dirty stained sheets and cockroaches, expensive compared to other twin bed accom. We moved accom to a much better place and location which was cheaper and cleaner. Staff did help us organise tours and let us have a refund in the rest of the booked nights. Good place for a party but room facilities were lacking.
