We loved the beautiful pool and bar at the mad monkey-they were so much fun and if you're under 30 years old it's definitely the place to be in Siem Reap! Amazing cheap food and drinks! However, I am absolutely terrified of cockroaches, and of course I expected them in Southeast Asia, but having a huge one in our room was very unpleasant. The staff killed it right away but I wasn't comfortable. Also bad wifi and semi dirty bathrooms. Stay here anyway. It was, ultimately, still an amazing place.
The hostel is pretty cool for partying and if you don't feel like it they also provide earplugs. The top bar is great and the swimming pool is a relieve from the heat. Beers are a bit expensive but it is worth it. Location is excellent. Just don't buy any tours or bus tickets with them. They overcharge A LOT. Not a little bit more, but like 40% on top of real value if you go book else where.
If you want a good time in a good place with good people and good food then stay here, bar far the best social hostel in siem reap . Would always return!
We had a great time at the Mad Monkey, a lively hostel in a great location and with very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and good value for money and the rooftop bar, food and swimming pool were an added bonus! Only issue we had was booking to temples via the hostel reception and would advise anyone to also enquire outside of the hostel for cheaper prices. Overall a very pleasant stay
Fantastic place to stay as a young person; great pool, cheap drinks, close to the centre of town, the bar on the roof is incredible and the most buzzing place in town! The staff are really helpful and they organise trips and buses etc. Definitely the place to stay in Siem Reap!

I had an amazing stay at the Mad Monkey! I met a ton of great friends at the bar upstairs and the staff were great with organizing stuff! If you're in Siem Reap definetely stay here
Room was not ready on arrival despite afternoon checkin, loud and noisy at all times of day and night, room was dirty, dirty stained sheets and cockroaches, expensive compared to other twin bed accom. We moved accom to a much better place and location which was cheaper and cleaner. Staff did help us organise tours and let us have a refund in the rest of the booked nights. Good place for a party but room facilities were lacking.

Stay here if you want to party. It's definitely a "gap yah"/college party type of hostel, but it's great fun and a good place to meet people. The staff are great, we had a little misunderstanding with one about a tour refund but the manager sorted it out quickly and efficiently. Rooms are not locked but you have a big lockable cupboard each for belongings and valuables. Bunkbeds are very squeaky! The pool is amazing on hot days. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely a party hostel. Fantastic place if you're looking to go out for even a night or two; if you're looking for quiet, peaceful nights, this isn't the place for you. We had a great time staying here
Absolutely wicked. If your a social person and u want to meet lots of people and party, then you need to stay no where else but here!! Amazing roof top bar and only a couple minutes to pub street. I didn't have enough time here!
Definitely a party hostel! You´ll hear the music until midnight or longer! Overall, the hostel is clean...but there was mould in our bathroom and the bathroom was flooding after a shower! Beds are okay, staff is friendly and the pool is really cool! Anyway, I think 8 bucks for a dorm is too much!
Pros: Pool, bar, location, friendly staff Cons: Lack of security. For example, I came back to my room to find a random guy in my bed who was too incoherent to find his own room. This wouldn't have happened if the door properly closed, or locked, but neither was the case. The staff was kind and accommodating the next morning after the ordeal and I moved to a different place. **Mad Monkey is a great place for a party, I was in Siem Reap to volunteer so it just wasn't the place for me.
We came to this hostel because we wanted a social atmosphere. However, the people here are not friendly unless you're drunk or drinking. The staff is super rude and can hardly speak English. For a party hostel that caters mostly to English speaking people I'm surprised how hard it was to communicate. The room was gross and not very clean, the bed is rock hard with protruding springs making it uncomfortable to sleep in. Construction goes on at all hours of the day.
great hostel. a party hostel but clean and friendly people
This place is great but it's a big party hostel so don't stay here if you want a quiet night! Stayed in a dorm right next to the pool which was brilliant and great for meeting people! Most of the staff are Khmer and they are great! The rooftop bar is amazing and busy every night! The beer is cheap, the food is great, the beds are huuuuge! It's everything you want out of a hostel!
Had a great time at the Mad Monkey! Has lots of social areas which make it easy to meet people. Really enjoyed the pool. In a great location close to Pub Street. Food is a bit pricey but you are in walking distance of many many restaurants. It is a party hostel so do not stay here if you are looking for somewhere quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend staying here!
This place is great, unless you're looking for a quiet place to relax. Everything's fine except for the 2 days when there was a power trip and it was super stuffy everywhere

We really had a great stay at madmonkey! Everything you need is at hand, great people, good parties and the food is tasty. Lots of fun activities and they arrange several kinds of trips etc. During our stay it was a big poweroutage one whole day, even tho it wasn't mad monkeys "fault" they compensated us guests with free drinks and offered to give money back for the accomodation. We didn't feel the need to take the money but appreciated that they offered = good costumer service!
