I absolutely loved it! I stayed at the Mad Monkey Phnom Penh before and loved it, so it was an easy choice of hostel in Siem Reap as well - the staff is absolutely lovely, the location great (only a couple of minutes walk from pub street and the night market), the rooftop bar parties are insane (only rooftop bar in Cambodia - the parties are something else! ). I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it!

stayed 2 nights in 6 bed dorm. Hostel is clean, dorms have small lockers for personal stuff/small laptops and aircon. Big draw for the hostel is the rooftop bar which has a sand pit floor, plenty of comfy couch or hammock seating and easy to meet people throughout the day. Location a bit out of the way but not a problem as it is in a quieter area and the bar makes up for it. Would definitely stay here again

My time at the Mad Monkey, Siem Reap, could not have been better. My friend and I stayed in a two bed private room which was fine, nothing fancy but it had a private bathroom and good air conditioning. We met so many great people in the roof top bar, which served cheap drinks and delicious food. I would highly recommend the Mad Monkey to anyone who likes to have a good time! My only caution would be, if you don't like to party this probably isn't the place for you.

The Hostel, especially the rooftopbar&most of the guests were great. Staff was helpful and the room clean. I was unlucky that my room had a huge window to the lobby and I could not sleep until 1 o clock ( very drunk party people), that was a minus. Also people puked into the hallways and it was still there the next morning. Ask for English speaking Tuk Tuk driver to Angkor Wat, I had huge communiation problems & spent half day lookign for him. I f you want party stay here !

It would've been nice to have a separate place from the beach bar for eating! Maybe downstairs? The aircon in our room was old/broken, but we were told it was going to be replaced soonish! Also the bus trip we booked with you to Bangkok was a nightmare! (add an extra 4 hours to the 8 they tell you!) overall this place has a good atmosphere though :) I'd stay again! And at the Mad monkey in Phnom penh!

If you like partying you should go if you're trying to get a deep nightrest don't. Room was basic but quite big. Staff was friendly although they assured us that the boat to battambang had a restaurant on board and we would be picked up at 6 o clock. We were picked up at 7 and the boat was anything but luxurious. You should take the boat though the trip is very scenic.

Really good hostel ... Great atmosphere, awesome people . If your an artist you can paint on the walls and get free food / stay in return. Unfortunately siem reap had a massive power cut while we were there but mad monkey reacted brilliantly with discounts and free drinks etc . Great place to meet people 😀

Had a great stay. Great location not in the main part so NYC quieter but jut a Hirt walk from everything! Unfortunately the fan in our room was a bit broken and really noisy. Got used to it though and was fine!

About as good as hostels in Cambodia get, in my experience. The lockers in the room were tiny, their doors could be pried off, and the lockers themselves probably could be lifted and carried away by a single person. It gets loud at the roofbar so bring earplugs. Bicycle rental was great, staff was friendly, helpful and good-looking, there's a cool bar upstairs, wifi, yatta yatta. Mozzies in our room, though. =/ Bring net.

I absolutely loved my stay here. They have a great bar on the rooftop with sand on the floor. They host parties up there as well as play movies during the day. Everyone who worked at The Mad Monkey was super friendly and helpful. The hostel was pretty centrally located; most of Siem Reap was walkable or a short tuk tuk ride away. My friend, an artist, even got to paint a mural on their wall. I would 100% stay there again!

Nice hostel. Some of the staff don't speak the best English, so at times it can be difficult communicating. Good location for both going out and eating. The restaurant just next door does excellent Cambodian food for cheap. Highly recommended.

If you are an independent traveller and wants to meet people this is the place to be. Biggest bed I've ever had in a hostel, the air con is a must in this town. Very helpfull staff and the most important, not push! But be aware, rooms are always full and very difficult to extend your stay!

The Mad Monkey was in the best location ever, but that was pretty much all it had going for it. Our room and bathroom were dirty, and it took several times to ask the staff to clean it before they actually did. Tom is the best tuk tuk driver they have! He's super friendly and suggested lots of great things for us to do if there was a lull in our day. The staff at MM were generally unhelpful, but still fairly friendly.
