Absolutely a party hostel. Fantastic place if you're looking to go out for even a night or two; if you're looking for quiet, peaceful nights, this isn't the place for you. We had a great time staying here

Absolutely wicked. If your a social person and u want to meet lots of people and party, then you need to stay no where else but here!! Amazing roof top bar and only a couple minutes to pub street. I didn't have enough time here!

Definitely a party hostel! You´ll hear the music until midnight or longer! Overall, the hostel is clean...but there was mould in our bathroom and the bathroom was flooding after a shower! Beds are okay, staff is friendly and the pool is really cool! Anyway, I think 8 bucks for a dorm is too much!

Pros: Pool, bar, location, friendly staff Cons: Lack of security. For example, I came back to my room to find a random guy in my bed who was too incoherent to find his own room. This wouldn't have happened if the door properly closed, or locked, but neither was the case. The staff was kind and accommodating the next morning after the ordeal and I moved to a different place. **Mad Monkey is a great place for a party, I was in Siem Reap to volunteer so it just wasn't the place for me.

We came to this hostel because we wanted a social atmosphere. However, the people here are not friendly unless you're drunk or drinking. The staff is super rude and can hardly speak English. For a party hostel that caters mostly to English speaking people I'm surprised how hard it was to communicate. The room was gross and not very clean, the bed is rock hard with protruding springs making it uncomfortable to sleep in. Construction goes on at all hours of the day.

great hostel. a party hostel but clean and friendly people

This place is great but it's a big party hostel so don't stay here if you want a quiet night! Stayed in a dorm right next to the pool which was brilliant and great for meeting people! Most of the staff are Khmer and they are great! The rooftop bar is amazing and busy every night! The beer is cheap, the food is great, the beds are huuuuge! It's everything you want out of a hostel!

Had a great time at the Mad Monkey! Has lots of social areas which make it easy to meet people. Really enjoyed the pool. In a great location close to Pub Street. Food is a bit pricey but you are in walking distance of many many restaurants. It is a party hostel so do not stay here if you are looking for somewhere quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend staying here!

This place is great, unless you're looking for a quiet place to relax. Everything's fine except for the 2 days when there was a power trip and it was super stuffy everywhere

We really had a great stay at madmonkey! Everything you need is at hand, great people, good parties and the food is tasty. Lots of fun activities and they arrange several kinds of trips etc. During our stay it was a big poweroutage one whole day, even tho it wasn't mad monkeys "fault" they compensated us guests with free drinks and offered to give money back for the accomodation. We didn't feel the need to take the money but appreciated that they offered = good costumer service!

Surely one of the best hostels in Cambodia. The dorms are clean and air conditioned and the location is great - 5 minute walk from pub street. The outdoor swimming pool area has a great atmosphere and is an absolute saviour as we stayed there during the hot season. The rooftop bar has been converted into a sandy beach and has great food and fairly cheap drinks. Would definitely recommend but it always seems sold out so book a few days ahead!

I enjoyed my stay at the mad monkey. The beds are huge and super comfy. The air con in the room was really powerful which was good as it was so hot! The bathroom could have been a lot cleaner, especially as there were 6 people using it. As you can't put toilet paper down the toilet, the bin really should have been emptied twice a day. The pool also needed cleaning more frequently. The reception staff were good, although they could have smiled once in a while!

One of my favourite hostels in SE Asia! The rooftop bar is a great place to meet people and the swimming pool is a great place to chill in the day!

This hostel is awesome!! Value for money. The only one thing have to improve is the attitude of counter staff. There is only one staff with bad attitude. Overall is good!

It has a pool! It is so hot in siem reap you will not appreciate the necessity of this till you are there. Great social life at the hostel with not one but two bars (rooftop and poolside) so don't be looking for quiet night's here. The location is great with the night market and pub street just a stroll away. Tuk tuks are always there to take you anywhere else. Because it's so good it is also very popular so book in advance.

Really good location and easy 10 min walk to pubs, restaurants and night market. Security guards at night. Brilliant pool ( although no shade ) and sandy rooftop bar. Decent range of tours offered. Would be nice if each bed had its own plug socket and lamp. Lockers under beds would-be useful.
