Great hostel, great location, save money for a budget plan. Make friends with more nice people all the world.

Decent value for it's price. But it's nothing fancy. It's not particularly dirty, but it's not the cleanest either. The bathrooms smell. On multiple occasions there was no hot water and no towels available. It can be absolutely sweltering in the dorms before the AC kicks on at 10pm. The study room was a good place to get some work done. The internet connection was awesome. There's a nice 711 nearby. Not too far from two stations. I met a lot of friendly people.

The meeting place is a great hostel to meet people travelling in Taipei. The staff is always willing to help and give advices about the city. The people is very respecful and we enjoyed a lot our stay there. The only "small negative thing" is the location, but it is 5-10 minutes walking from a MRT station, so no big deal.

There are rarely clean towels. As well, multiple times, I went into the bathroom and there was no toilet paper. The AC is only turned on from about 10:30/11pm to 4am, so if you plan on being in the hostel at any time other than that, it is really hot. The common room, which supposedly has AC is also really hot because the doors are left open to the outside. In the all girls room, there is a "longtimer" blonde girl who slams the door at all hours of the night, like she owns the place.

For the money, this hostel is pretty great. Yes it gets hot during the day, but the ac does get turned on at night. Free soap, shampoo and towels were great. Location is not great for nightlife but the RaoHe night market is 5 min walk away, and transportation is close.

So far this is the best hostel I have stayed in Taiwan, great location, breakfast store and convenient store in the back alley, have MRT station and a famous night market near by. It has 3 lovely common area that you could use: Huge TV room, study room and a kitchen table, and you won't hear any noise in the bedroom. This hostel is very similar to some Hostel in Europe, I would definitely recommend it to all the travelers in Taiwan!

Apart from stink from toilets and slight tiredness and uncleanliness it's a very good hostel. friendly staff and atmosphere. Overall good value for a good hostel.

Great mix of Asians and Westerners, travelers and students. Feels more calm and sophisticated than the usual hostel, but still throbs with adventure and spontaneity. The central lounge is inviting even if you don't spend much time there, while the "quiet" room is a great space to de-compress. The dorms can get a bit chaotic, but I always slept really well. The Songshan neighborhood is conveniently near the City Hall bus station. I'll definitely stay here when I come back to Taipei.

Loved TMP - staff was lovely and it has an unbeatable atmosphere. Nice powerful showers too, and really close to the underground and a night market.

Honestly not sure why this place is well reviewed. Decent location near two subways. Reeks of sweat, AC is central and turned on by the staff, meaning it's only on from around midnight to 4 am. Besides then it's brutally hot, even the common room is too hot to be in until midnight. It's so hot it's difficult to sleep at night; be prepared to wake up in your sweat. Longterm stayers own this place and aren't friendly, leave a mess of beer bottles, etc. Stay elsewhere.

Cant complain at the price. Good atmosphere.

Good value for the price. However, the hostel smells like STANK! The dorm room especially! It would also be nice to know who's on duty at the front desk.

The Meeting Place is a great place to stay, and really makes up for its name. During my stay Michael cooked twice for everybody (for free). They have a very comfy common area, and a quiet study room as well. Distance to mrt station is very convenient, nightmarket, 7/11, hilife, you'll find everything around. If there's something to improve, it would be the cleanliness in the shower room, but then again it's an incredibly cheap price for a night. I can recommend this place!

Loved this hostel. The staff are great and so are all the people staying there, particularly the long termers. I spent many a lovely evening sitting outside and chatting with the various residents. A very chill vibe throughout and a lot of cool people to meet - it's definitely well-named. Rooms are comfortable and bathrooms are clean. They also provide everything you need (even shower slippers, which I always forget to bring with me!) I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Taiwan.

I strongly "dis-recommend" this hostel. First of all, the sanity is really poor. In the hallway of the hostel, there's a trash box piled with stinky, smelly thrown away clothes. Also, in the room, they don't offer air-condition during daytime and even morning(just after 12AM to 4?), so it's really humid and smelly inside. Furthermore, there's like "Western hippy's bunker". I think the half of the guests are long-term stayer, so you can easily be outsider especially for Asian people.

A good value hostel with fast wifi, clean dorms and nice folks.

One of the best hostels ive been in Asia and probably the best you'll have in Taipei. Atmosphere is nice and Mike(the manager) is a great guy. Nick and Tom that work there are pretty sweet too. Commun area is comfy and good to drink or watch GOT with everyone. Carefull not to give same locker keys to different people :S (happened twice during my stay).
