Very unclean. They hire students and other travelers to clean and maintain the facility for free living.

I checked out at 6:15 in the morning and no one was there to help check me out. I didn't receive my deposit back because of this.

Aimed more at long term guests. No natural light which made it feel a bit dark and dingy and there were a lot of mosquitos when I was there. For the price I guess its not bad, but have stayed in a lot nicer hostels in Taiwan.

Rooms don't smell good. One of the 4 beds room has no window and is very very small. The staff isn't present at all, so when you need them you often need to come back later on.

An interesting place, with a mix of long term residents and people just staying for a day or two. To be honest, if you're only planning to stay in Taipei for a few days, I'd recommend looking for a hostel with a more "hostely" vibe. However, The Meeting Place is certainly a fine place to hang out, and if I was moving to Taipei for work, I'd consider making it my starting point. Oh, and the large common areas were quite nice. They're a rarity in Taiwanese hostels.

Everything at the facility is above average except for the restroom, which is a bit outdated. Staff were friendly and helpful. The facility location is quite close the MRT station and that's definitely a plus.

The internet worked perfectly. The directions were good and the location was OK. Not too far walk from the metro and train station and close to the Raohe Night Market. It was relatively close to the Taipei business district but a little far from the action of Taipei other than the night market. It had an interesting character in that there are many people who live there but I in general those that live there were relatively separated from the short time guests. Facilities were very good.

I checked in but ended up on the other side of town for most of the evening. Cheap accommodation with friendly staff, and security is also a priority there. A friendly environment amongst the travelers and semi-permanent residents there (some students and teachers), which makes for great company if you are traveling alone.

The meeting place was one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed in! It smelt extremely bad, with absolutely no ventilation nor windows inside this hostels. Most of the people staying there were living for a long perio of time to study and didn't want to interact at all. The bathrooms above all were absolutely putrid... they didn't supply toilet paper and were absolutely filthy. The common room space was big and that's about all I can say good about the 'meeting place.'

Great atmosphere, all resident and staff are super friendly. Most of the residents stay for long periods of time and are english teachers or chinese students.

I had such a great time in this hostel! Adam is extremely friendly and it is so easy to make some friends with people who come there! By the way, most of them stay longer than expected, at least one month and some you have left sometimes come back. This hostel really has the best atmosphere I have ever seen!

The location of this hostel is excellent. It is closed to Songshan railway station and Houshanpi subway station. But atmosphere there is not warm. And the bath water is tepid. I felt cold during bath. I stayed in Basic 8 Bed Female Dorm. And there was no window in my bedroom.
