This is honestly one of the best places to stay in the world. Shanan and Chris (the managers) know everything about the area and are helpful and friendly. There is such a community at the hostel and a wonderful and interesting group of people staying there. It's walking distance from the beach and a 50 cent bus ride from Old San Juan. You can even walk to Old San Juan but it takes 50 mins. They should charge way more than 20 dollars for a night because it's so great. I'm so glad I stayed there.

This hostel is dirty and not really well kept. It is in need of serious renovations. The thought of prison came to mind before hostel. I cancelled and left after one night because I needed to upgrade. I am used to European standard hostels and expected as such after the high ratings but was severely disappointed.

I've stayed at many hostels around the world, and this ranks the lowest. I don't go in with many expectations, this is lodging on the cheap, but every other hostel I've stayed in seems to care a little more. This 'palace' felt like a college house full of roommates who don't mind the house falling apart...then it doesn't matter if no one cleans it.

So much fun staying here! The people are awesome, the beds are clean. Shannon works really hard to make the stay as enjoyable as she can, while staying cheerful and energetic all the time. Dave was incredible, taking guests out with him on his "coconut walks". The most sincere and genuine person I have met. So glad that I decided to stay here. Definitely drop by if you ever drop by PR.

Hot water broke in upstairs and downstairs showers. Bathrooms always had dirty water on them. Loved everyone in the hostel, felt very secure, had an amazing time. Thanks so much for making my trip to Puerto Rico an amazing one!

Owner Comment (Show)
The upstairs bathroom does not have "hot water" so it could not have broken. It was turned off because guest generally want a "cooler" water shower. The down stairs shower did not break or fail to work while this guest was here. The downstairs shower has "hot water"!

stayed 2 nights in a double room december based on the good reviews. after travelling for nearly 3 months i was genuinely shockrf at how there was such good reviews. this is more like a university share house than a hostel. unclean, breakfast was breas left on the bench with no clean cuttlery. bathroom drain clogged with hair and no hot water upstairs. seedy neighborhood. staff were nice and helpful but hostel not what expected.

It was a nice place to stay. Staff was super nice and really cool to hang out with if you want. I found the bed to be pretty uncomfortable and the air conditioner was so loud made it difficult to sleep- I know it's a hostel and not a hotel and I'm not complaining just saying what I noticed. I think it would be a really great thing if screens were put on the windows so windows could be open so you didn't need air conditioning and it would keep out the Mosquitos.

The hostel was great, but needs improvement in security for valuables. Their are too few lockers. Get reality check. Spend some money! I do not want take my wallet or computer to the beach. Shannon, Chris, and team are your biggest asset.

The hostel and all it's staff are amazing! They are extremely friendly and fun to be around and helped us plan our entire trip around the island! They even gave us cookies when we didn't feel good! The manager is one of the most beautiful people I have met!

I liked how small and conveniently located it was. Staff was helpful and friendly, although I was kind of put off by a staff member dissing my religion. I was in the next room, and she couldn't have known, of course, that she was being pretty offensive talking that way about stuff I believed. It wasn't really her fault; like I said, she couldn't have known, and I'm sure she woulda been polite to my face. Still, not a very professional move.Otherwise, everything went AWESOME. Really pretty place.
