We were shown around our reserved room. The floor was filthy, bed was made but with dirty, blood stained sheets. The pillows smelled awful and the room had clearly been smoked in. The second, third and even fourth rooms offered to us were of no improvement. Very basic, cold and dingy rooms. The owner was very helpful after our decision not to stay. I'd think twice about chancing a visit, what with numerous other guesthouses offering far better rooms at lower prices right next door.
We had a room at the top which had a great view across the city. The room was comfy, the shower had hot water (eventually) and it was nice to be able to get breakfast downstairs. Having stayed in central Thamel earlier on the trip it was nice to be able to leave the guesthouse and not be instantly hit with a rush of people trying to sell stuff. Would recommend this guesthouse (although it isn't especially Tibetan).
