It seems that Villa Dori is well priced but they don't tell you that it costs 25 euros to take a taxi to the hotel which is in the middle of nowhere. On its website they say they have a free shuttle from Mestre, but when I arrived it wasn't available. Instead I was told to take a bus number 10 to the hotel which was impossible to find we were forced to take a taxi. Upon arrival we were greeted with a short blond woman, who is the rudest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel or hostel.

Nice and quiet. We didn\'t use the shuttle from the train station to the hotel because we couldn\'t find it. The bus stop for bus number 10 is impossible to find without the help from the locals.

Considering what you have to pay to stay one night in any hostel/hotel in Venice, the price was really good. The problem is that the hotel is on the outskirts of central Venice, and so you need a car to get the place. Once there, however, you can hire a minibus for 3 euros that will leave you in the very downtown of Venice. The staff is very helpful. The surrounding areas very quiet and restful. It\'s a very good option if you\'re planning to visit Venice and you don\'t want to spend a lot of money in your

The staff & cleanliness of this hotel was good, but the location and noise was horrid. Just to find the hotel was difficult and getting to and from the island of Venice took at least 45 minutes with walking and public bus. It is in a small town with virtually nothing around it. You could also hear EVERYTHING from the surrounding rooms. If you want a quite removed place to stay then come here if not I would not recommend this hotel due to its location and difficulty in getting to and from Venice.

We enjoyed our stay, but a couple of problems. Things are not as promised in the summary so be careful. Their directions from the airport are VERY hard to follow (we, and 2 other groups heading to the hotel that day) were lost for 3 hours. So their shuttle is a good idea, however, read the fine print, because it costs 16-50 euro depending on the airport you come from. Also the wifi is not included, but charged. Overall however, great way to see the city—their shuttle is 3 euro each way

I read about Villa Dori before booking it and I read that other people had found the reception staff rude and not very helpfull and my experience was unfortunately the same. The hotel is cheap and good value for your money I would say, but 2 women in reception were not very friendly and it means a lot that you feel welcome and not like a burden. The rest of the people were ok and some even nice and friendly!

The way to the hotel was not clear in the explanations. They suggested us to get off in Venice Mestre station and then take the bus to the hostel. We didn't know where the bus passed. It wasn't so close to the station but that wasn't explained by the hostel. It took us nearly half an hour to find the bus stop. The hostel is very far from the city centre. If your train is at a very early hour, you can use the shuttle of the hotel. That's a really good service, but this service is too much,16 euros.

If you're looking to get away and relax for a weekend, this hotel is perfect. There's a cool café/restaurant connected to the hotel, as well as a lovely garden that my room faced, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. However, if you're visiting Venice, this hotel is not very easy to get to from both the airport and from the island. If you plan on travelling to and from the island often, a hotel located by the Mestre train station would be preferable.

The staff was very rude when we checked in, and were only able to give us one key to the room. With a group of 8 we knew that we all were not going to stick together therefore we had to leave it at the desk the entire stay. The hotel is EXTREMELY hard to get to, and their directions on their website are terrible. They tell you to take bus #25 from the train station. When we got to the Mestre train station we found out that bus #25 did not exist. The hotel is clean and warm on a positive note.

I was scared at first because the reviews on this hotel made the location seem awful. But, the hotel is extremely accommodating and the shuttle drops you off right in the center of Venice near San Marco Square for 3 Euro. Also, to get to and from the train station you just take Bus 10 and it takes you directly there both ways. It was nice to stay in a real hotel for a change and at an excellent price. I stayed here during Carnivale and will recommend it to my friends who are there next year.
