Decent night stay, comfy beds, big kitchen, and many areas to hang out including sunny outdoor porches with beautiful views. Near K road which has a lot going on. Staff was good, but not really there when you needed them. Atmosphere was friendly, though I was only there one night and didn't meet too many people. Lots of long-term travelers working there in exchange for room and board.

Very clean, great atmosphere, worth the price. A little far away from the CBD but that is why it is great! I would definitely stay there again. However, 2 things to be aware of (1) wifi is very sketchy and hardly ever works for some devices when reception is closed (2) reception hours are not very long. It can be difficult to catch them sometimes. However, despite this I have stayed in other Auckland hotels and this is by far the best.

A nice hostel a little away from downtown Auckland, but in a very nice area called Ponsonby, with many cafes and a nice international food court around. Owner was helpful with any questions I had. No bunk beds in my 4-bed dorm room. Super clean individual bathrooms. Large kitchen and lounge area. Nice porch and lawn at the back. They do charge a 3% fee for using credit cards. Not a big deal, I just payed in cash. Also, I wish they had free wifi. The payed on wasn't very fast.

Really great location with Ponsonby and K road really close. Friendly staff. Rooms are great no bunk beds! Clean and bright and airy. A lovely garden and right by a park. Only thing that could make this better would be free wifi!

One of the best hostels in Auckland. Great atmosphere, great place. Love everything about it.

Really good hostel! Can highly recommend this one. Nice staff, brilliant location near Ponsonby rd and adorable old buildings just next to a park.

Veranhads A very best spot that is actually three houses beside each other, massive old homes that have been well transformed. Private toilet / shower which was great, quiet and warm and no bunk beds in my room - always a massive bonus!! Kitchen was big and clean with free tea and coffee. Wifi was great as well. Location was the best part as I personally don't love auckland and ponsonby is the only salvation, a funky area of town with actual character and lots of great cafes etc. Just a sham

Très bonne auberge bien située car ni trop centrale (j'ai fait en plein centre et c'est horrible le bruit) ni trop éloignée du centre bus à côté Lieu paisible on a l'impression d'être à la maison ! Je recommande vivement

As a mature couple we were delighted with our private room. The shared facilities were kept very clean and it was very relaxing and an excellent start to our two months in NZ. Location near Ponsonby and the park was great and only a half hour walk to ferry terminal. Highly recommend .

The staff was awesome...so helpful...great kitchen...good mix of people

The actual hostel itself is a beautiful building however the rooms are very basic for the price, with very basic facilities and also heard someone banging on the door downstairs at about 3am which was a bit surprising. Felt more like a B and B rather than a hostel -

Great Breakfasts, The room was very cramped but clean. WE stayed in twin share room and it was on the 5th floor, there was a giant industrial fan in the room which made the tiny room seem even more cramped, there was no where to put or open our luggage. The staff were excellent and friendly who knew lots about London and traveling around it. The location is grew at right next to Hyde park. The showers are very small and there is not enough ventilation in them.

What an awesome place. This hostel is perfectly located and is immaculate but at the same time with tonnes of character. The atmosphere is such that it is a magnet for cool people and I had some great chats to some fellow adventurers at heart.

This is your home away from home. Most people here stay for several weeks and have jobs, so not too noisy at night. Also, everyone keeps it clean. People hang around in the big kitchen (where there are two big wooden tables) and the living room and are glad to meet new faces as well. The bathrooms include shower, toilet and sink in the room (you have it all to yourself). And the cold is not that bad, promise ;) and internet alternative: computer in a convenience store for NZD1/h on queen street

Very comfortable place to stay. Fantastic location. Overall an a great experience.

Nice old rooms but wifi only worked in the main lounge room which was inconvenient as our room was in he other building.

Lovely receptionist but cleaner was a little pushy in the morning.. coming into our room at 9:50 and telling it was 10am. We were all packed up and left then but it was quite impolite.

Great Hostel! Wifi costs 25$ a week, thats a little poor. Cheaper/ free would be appreciated

Clean and spacious rooms in a beautiful house. However, it was really cold in the house, including the room and the kitchen. It's located right next to Ponsonby Road, which is a pretty cool place. It's about a 20 minutes walk to Queen Street and about 10-15 minutes to the closest Countdown. The kitchen was huge, and well-equipped. The hostel is located right next to a park and the place is probably really nice during summer when it's warmer and you can use the garden.

Quite a nice place, great kitchen and common area. WiFi is not free, its $3 an hour so quite expensive. Its a bit of a walk away from the centre and could really do with lockers in the dorms. Very clean and pretty though.
