I only stayed for one night, but it was pretty average. There weren't really any ways to meet other people in the hostel & it was odd that there were two separate facilities. All that aside, it was clean & that is always nice. The beds were solid. The guy working the desk in the morning was pretty rude, but I'll look past that because it was 7 a.m. Just wasn't my vibe.

Probably one of the most amazing hostels I've ever stayed in, split level rooms, very clean only downside is the bed was a little uncomfortable but apart from that perfect! Not the biggest social atmosphere so that's a downside for the solo traveler. The morning breakfast was basic, but still very much appreciated, I noticed though the milk and juice ran out quickly so you'd have to make sure you're one of the first few down there. Would gladly stay here again!

By and large a positive hostel experience. However, the internet access was awful. It was very slow and frustrating to use, and I was unable to send emails from my private account, which is highly unusual. For a traveler that is dependent upon internet and email for travel plans and communications, this is a major negative. I highly recommend that Vertigo improve their capacity as this takes away from an otherwise pleasant stay.

Close to the city center, but not so much to the train station. It was a bit difficult to find it. Helpful staff, good facilities and good prices.

I really enjoyed the hostel, is very close to the port (a must visit in Marseille) and to 2 of the metro stations. The breakfast is very good. I stayed in a twin room and was very nice, the private bathroom is very clean, the is a lot of space, good decoration, enough light. The staff is friendly and they will give you directions to all the main attractions. The exact location of the hostel is a little difficult to find, there is no wifi and the 2 public computers don't work very well.

Well guys i ve been working for hostels and wholesalers all my life. This is in my personal top five. Everything is spot on , location, cleanliness, atmosphere, facilities. Staff get all my loyality: house keeper, whose name i forgot is beautiful, Stefanie super helpful, and again i forgot the name of that guy at the reception, long standing receptionist, extrremely polite and peaceful. If u really wanna go to this European cultural capital Vertigo Vieux Port is your place. Alberto

in a kinda sketchy looking street but convenient - walking distance to vieux port. other than that, everything was perfect! room was very clean and well-equipped, spacious for me and 5 other friends (had a mixed 6-person room with its own 1.5 bathrooms). the wifi left a little to be desired (could only get it on the stairs, and even then was weak). free breakfast (bread + jam/butter + milk/juice) every day and clean kitchen.

I really enjoyed my stay at Vertigo Vieux Port. The staff is really friendly and everything was great! However it did take us a while to actually find the street the hostel was in, we kept going round in circles... perhaps some directions on the website would have been useful!

It was a very great hostel experience. The room's were very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful. It is in a really convenient part of the city to near the vieux port. Breakfast was included as well and that was great.

Excellent place to stay

We most likely chose the worst time to go to Marseille being the middle of the winter. This hostel didn't really give us a reason to stay. The rooms were big and roomy but the general areas lacked a friendly homey feel... Again probably due to it being only long term residents staying there...

The breakfast was very good and the rooms were clean and very big. The bathrooms were clean and the whole hostel is very comfortable. But there was only one hotplate in the kitchen, that is not enough.
