in our room the bathroom door wan't able to lock. except this everything was great. the staff was kindly, relaxing, helpful. spiking fluent English. and they are professional. the place make you feel comfortable. and the location is close to the main attraction near to Guilin.
Excellent hostel, highly recommend it. Stayed at the dorms, comfortable beds and OK bathroom. What makes this hostel really special is not the facilities but the great and friendly staff, always nice and helpful. The atmosphere is great and I would definitely go back!
I loved it and stayed an additional two nights. The Wada lies a bit remote, but therefore a bit quieter, and it's still only a 10min low pace walk to the train station. The staff girls are the best ever! They speak a quite good English, are always happy and very very VERY helpful, no matter if you need advice on a bike trip round the city or your mobile stopped working. To put it like Schwarzenegger: I'll be back!
We only stayed here for one night as had heard there isn't a great deal to do in Guilin (which is true!) So just used this as a stop over to break up our journey from HK to Yangshuo. Wada is just short walk from the bus station. Excellent hostel, very friendly staff, lovely food from the kitchen and cheap drinks at the bar. Very nice chill out area and garden. We had a private room and it was clean and spacious, although there wasn't really any storage space, not a major issue though.
Nicest staff I've ever met! The atmosphere is is awesome, the food is great and you just feel comfortable here! I would recommend it without any doubt!
Nice hostel a 20-30min walk off downtown Guilin. Busstops in front of the complex and nice local market/stores close by. Staff is very helpful and fluent in english! Hostel is a nice base from where you can do 2-day trips to the ricefields (very recommended - highlite of my stay) and yangshuo (very touristy - rent a bike and get out of the beaten paths). Almost forgot the best: The bar is equipped with a Lavazza machine and the girls know how to use it! nice to get a good coffee in china! ;)
The hostel was a great place to stay, so much so I wish I had been in Guilin for more then two nights. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They were helpful in finding stuff do since rain cancelled one of activities and during the evenings (and day) they were great to socialize with when I was waiting around for things to do or for supper etc. Easily one of the best staffs I have ever had at a hostel and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Hostel was good and atmosphere very nice with many people on the lounge. A couple of drawbacks to improve: first, there is no wifi in the rooms and the internet in the old computers is almost useless due to the low speed (couldn't even get Gmail to load), second there were some really helpful, friendly and nice staff ibut there were other staff that was not that attentive and all they pointed out when asking for places to buy some food around, is the hostel's bar. Good place in general.
actually i book Wada hostel for my parents, and they are very satisfy with this place. Friendly staff, comfortable place.... but if have wifi in room will be better ;)
Perfect location close to the train station and the two bus stations going to both the rice terraces(north) and Yangshuo(south). Lots of food options within 5 min walk, and the hostel restaurant is also very good. The staff is the most happy/friendly and helpfull we have seen so far in China and they all speak very good english. Rooms are spotless, A/C in the room. The little bar is very cool! We stayed 3 nights in between trips and we felt it was like coming back home every time!!

The staff spoke fantastic English and were more then happy to help out with any enquiries we had. They helped by writing addresses and short statements in Chinese to aide us in our travels. They also purchased our train tickets for the next place. The bar had a friendly, relaxed feel to it and there we tours available from the desk. There is a shopping centre and take away places across the road and Wada is a short walk from the train station. Room was clean simple and had multi-national plugs.
Staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of bus and trains (or short taxi ride). Great common area with all day English breakfast which was a welcome treat. Clean spacious private rooms which you can tell have been decorated with love. Perfect for both our stopovers in Guilin.
Really nice hostel. The staff seemed to take the extra effort to learn guest's names, and would greet them by name as they came and went. The social area is nice and relaxed, with a bar inside and a terrace with seating outside. The Friday night BBQ party was also great, with some really good food. The rooms were clean, the AC worked well and the bathrooms (although a little basic) were decent too. The location is not great; close to the station, but quite a trek from the city centre.
Staff were excellent. Good food provided and the Friday BBQ was excellent!!
