It doesn´t has A/C, to get sleep is very hard beacause the rooms are too hot. The matress is too thin, you´ve better find a hostel with A/C and a good matress,

We are sorry you felt this way, but considering there are so many other options of accommodation in Rio, one question still remains: why did you come back for a second stay?

The friendly staff, security and location were the best thing about this hostel. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm which consisted of 2 triple bunkbeds. The room was too small - it was hard to fit 6 backpacks on the floor. The whole hostel was also ridiculously hot! No aircon in the communal areas. Our friend moved into a dorm with aircon and paid the same as us which seemed a bit unfair. Also the wifi didnt work the whole time we were there as it only let a limited amount of people on at a time.

Thanks for your review. Allow us to break it down to you: you booked a six bed dorm with fans, you stayed in a six bed dorm with fans. It's that simple. About it being "ridiculously hot", I refer you to weather.com or any other forecast website: Rio is hot in the summer! "Ridiculously hot", some might say, although that relies on personal opinions. Plus we never advertised a/c in communal areas, so basically you got what you paid for. About the wi-fi, we are sorry for the problems you referred to, it has already been taken care of.

My friend and I cried in the taxi when we left this hostel - we spent a wonderful week there with the best staff ever. Their breakfast was amazing, the staff was so friendly and helpful, there are three common rooms, wifi access, plenty of opportunities to tour the city, a short walk from the beach, and within a great area of Copacabana by restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores, laundry, everything you need! Also an easy walk from Ipanema Beach. We can't wait to come back and stay there again!

Walk on the beach is perfectly located close to the Copacabana and close to transport to all the main attractions of Rio, clubs, bars etc.. The service is really good with all the staff caring about the guests having a good time! I got sick for a few days and it was incredible how the staff cared, brought me tea, went to the pharmacy to buy medicine, recommended hospitals. It helped me recover very quickly. Definately one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at!

Thanks for your review. Our rooms are exactly as described on HostelWorld, bunks, ceiling fans, etc. We do offer a dorm with A/C, you just have to be wiling to pay the price for it, which is not the same as the dorm you originally booked into. Unfortunately to some, summer in Rio is warm and, as for now, there is not much we can do influence the weather. We recommend doing a broader research about the weather in your next destinations and/or loosening the purse strings a bit. Happy travels!

stayed at this lovely hostel for some nights. location is perfect, right in the middle of copacabana in a quiet street. the staff is superb. always helpful and cool. only minus i can think of, i stayed in a three bed room and during the night it became super hot. though there is a ceiling fan you weren't able to sleep at all. overall very good hostel for a good price!

Amazing hostel! The staff is super great and also people who were there same time with me. Hostel has all the things you need, nice breakfast, lockers, clean rooms and help in what ever matter if you just ask. I was staying in a 12 bed dorm and it was good. Hostel has also nice small bar to chill out before going out in the evening. Thaks for all stuff for making my first weeks in Rio super good! -janika

One of the funnest hostels I've ever stayed at. The security at this place is excellent. The staff were awesome because they helped with figuring out day activities and were really fun to talk to. I would recommend this hostel to anyone going to Rio!

‘Amazing’ is an understatement for this hostel. Great vibe, clean rooms and bathrooms, centrally located, very safe, amazing staff and of course, perfect Caipirinhas - what more could you ask for? WOTB is THE place to stay in Rio, whether you want to party, sightsee or just sit in the sociable bar-terrace area share experiences with other like-minded travellers. And saving the best til last – Dominic: a fountain of knowledge on all things Rio, from walking tours to where to party. We’ll be back.

The staff was beyond helpful. I even had a walking tour designed for me by one of them. The rooms and facilities were average for a hostel. The breakfast was good, but it was definitely the staff that made my stay here great. The hostel is within a 5 minute walk to the beach. They organize tours, but it is easy to catch the bus and metro from the hostel too. I thought it was a perfect location for site seeing. I would stay here again. Also, the staff was always cleaning.

The hostel was awesome, it had a great atmosphere. The staff were really friendly, relaxed and really helpful when it came to advise. The location was really amazing, super close to the metro and bus stops, four blocks from the beach and there were supermarkets and places to eat really close by. if you can try and book a smaller dorm with air conditioning because it is ridiculously hot.

Great location, only a five minutes walk from the beach. Best price for its location, too. The bar upstairs creates a perfect atmosphere for people to gather up, get a drink, socialize, and usually form a good company to head off and enjoy the night. But i think that, for me, what stood out was its people. Both staff and travellers. I met a LOT of interesting people over there, and I had some great times with great company at that hostel. Recommended.
