About

Built in the beginning of the last century by a Polish embassador, the house was uniquely constructed and still holds the special details and archietecture reminiscent of a European Castle.

We have mixed dorms that can hold 4, 6, 8 and 12 guests (bunk beds/coed) as well as a dorm room for girls (8 regular beds).
All Dorms have electronic lock on door and individual lockers.
Some of our Dorms have bathroom inside and air conditionining. They are our Best Dorms!
Private rooms are available for groups between 2 and 5 guests.
We also offer a Family Private Room (Family 5 Bed Private) which can fit up to 5 guests.
The room has air-conditioning, fan, bathroom, small kitchen with microwave, Cable TV, and small fridge.

Our private chalets (Double Bed Privates) are a great option for 1, 2 or 3 guests. The room includes a queen-size bed (extra mattress for a 3rd person), balcony, bathroom and air-conditioning. Some also have SmarTV.

Pura Vida Hostel is situated within walking distance between two of the most famous beaches in the world. Less than a 1 minute walk lands you in front of Lifeguard Tower 5 (Posto 5) of Copacabana Beach and within 10 minutes, you will find yourself in Ipanema Beach with a fantastic view of the famous mountains of Dois Irmãos and Gávea!
To get to Pura Vida Hostel, there are 3 options: Bus, Taxi / Uber or Metro.
No matter how you come, the best way to reach our home is by Copacabana, through Rua Sá Ferreira.
The Hostel's address is Rua Saint Roman, number 20. Our house is the 2nd on the right, coming from Rua Sá Ferreira.

The staff could not give less of an effort. The hostel’s beds were wobbly so if you were top bunk, it was shaking. The boys bathroom reeked. They have the same dance class every night, so they don’t mix it up. For how expensive it was, I expected more value. But hey, it was in a cool location and the building itself felt very Harry Potter

My friends and I really had a great time at the hostel. It was our first time ever at a hostel and the staff was incredibly kind to us. The private rooms were fine and each person got provided a towel that they could replace with a clean one. The Location is great for partying and it has a lot of cool restaurants and bars near it. It is also really safe I only wouldn't recommen his Hostel you're really anti social and hate having to take a lot of stairs lol. We will definitely come by again :)
