This hostel is amazing! It's clean, secure, has a good location and the staff is great! They're always happy to help you out and they know a lot about Rio. I recommend it to everyone who likes to have unforgettable memories!

The hostel was awesome, it had a great atmosphere. The staff were really friendly, relaxed and really helpful when it came to advise. The location was really amazing, super close to the metro and bus stops, four blocks from the beach and there were supermarkets and places to eat really close by. if you can try and book a smaller dorm with air conditioning because it is ridiculously hot.

Great location, only a five minutes walk from the beach. Best price for its location, too. The bar upstairs creates a perfect atmosphere for people to gather up, get a drink, socialize, and usually form a good company to head off and enjoy the night. But i think that, for me, what stood out was its people. Both staff and travellers. I met a LOT of interesting people over there, and I had some great times with great company at that hostel. Recommended.

The new hostel should be called Walk on the Beach Again, because everyone wants to come and stay with Walk on the Beach again.

I had a great time. The common area wasn't the most comfortable place to meet people, but if you go to the bar, you'll instantly have a crew to hang out with. Fantastic staff.

Excellent hostel - the nicest staff we came across in South America! Good rooms, good location. Rooms can be a little warm, but that is the same everywhere.

Great location, a few minutes from the beach.. Staff are amazing, all friendly & extremely helpful alomost as if they are guest there too.. Very secure, camera on the door & can only be let in by reception.. Can be hard to sleep at time due to heat but there is a great breakfast when you wake up! & free internet.. If I´m back in Rio I´ll be staying there again..

What makes Walk on the Beach a great hostel is the staff. Very knowledgable and friendly, and always wanting to help you make the most of your time in Rio. Attracts a good crowd - we made many friends there. The favela tour offered by the hostel was incredible and they have a different evening activity/party every night.

Staff was amazing, as was the atmosphere. I came alone to Rio, and choose Walk on the beach solely on the recommendations about great atmosphere and friendly people. Was not disappointed! If you want to party, enjoy yourself, and just have wild and crazy time... Walk on the Beach is for you!!!

Dominique, Priscila and Gabriela are amazing hosts! They all speak fluent English amongst other languages. They are friendly and enthusiastic and treat each request with their full attention. If you have any questions about Rio, or wish to organise tours, they are a one-stop-shop for information. Walk on the beach has a great fun atmosphere to meet with other backpackers from around the world. They have a cosy bar upstairs which is a great meeting point before going out to hit the town!

On arrival the hostel is pretty standard however the staff there are second to none! Fun friendly staff, all up for a bit of banter. Very helpful in giving advice of the area and letting you know what's going on in the city, if I return to Rio: I'm sure I'll be stopping here Keep up the good work!!

Amazing place to stay at! I had the most memorable time here due to the family environment that the staff promotes which funnels into the people that stay here and spreads like wild-fire! Stay here if you want to meet great people and have great memories in Rio. I loved it so much here that I cut my trip to Florianopolis short just to come back and be with the people that I met here! it was that crazy! I bought a new flight after just 4days in Floripa when originally i planned to stay for 14

Dom runs the place better than he would his own home. Make sure to tell him that Jeb sent you in to recieve special treament. Just kidding, he treats everyone as if they are his best fiend, The whole staff is very very nice, always willing to go out of their way to help in anyway possible. Bar upstairs plays great music with strong drinks. Cute girls and chill guys...not a better hostel in Rio!! When i come back it will be for a WALK ON THE BEACH! btw- dont speak 2 lang? no worries, dom speaks 5
