The staff was friendly enough, but not super helpful at all. They did not help negotiating a taxi to or from the airport. We paid 200rmb from the airport to the hostel and 100rmb on the way back. If you go by the meter it'll be around 75rmb. The map they provide of the park is also old and not close to correct making it quite difficult to find places. It is probably best to have someone who speaks mandarin in Wulingyuan in general since it's a very local town and park in general.

Nothing to complain about, however, nothing special either. Location is ok, so are the rooms

Good youth hostel in Wulingyuan, 20 min walk from the entrance to the park. Rooms are basic, equipped with aircon, as pretty much everywhere in China.

Very nice and helpful staff, location is also very convenient - close to the Wulingyuan park, excellent value for money, simple and everything a tired traveler needs.

From the airport be careful with the Taxi drivers. They will tell you that it takes 1.5 hours to get there and cost 400RMB. In reality 30-40 mins is enough and fare should definitely be below 200. Call the hostel before taking the taxi and let them negotiate if needed. Staff in the hostel is very nice. Especially Lee is extremely helpful and speaks close the perfect English.

Super convenient access to the Wulingyuan park entrance and bus station (just wave down Bus No. 2 on the side of the street opposite the hostel). Rooms are what you get for your money; hot water pressure is low and Western toilets are weak, but hey, this is China. The staff is uniformly helpful, and the downstairs lobby is a nice and quiet place to chill after a day in the park.

It was in a great location just up the street from an awesome market. The owner was extremely helpful and spoke pretty good English! She helped us get around and told us where to go, she even waited for the bus with us. It was a wonderful stay.

Stayed for 3 nights, had a double private. Excellent location close to the park with direct bus-link!! Staff is incredibly helpful and has many good advices for the park. We enjoyed our stay, though we didn't meet any other travellers. Low season. Rooms and facilities are leftover from former hotel I guess, not beautiful or homey but for sure good enough to rest your tired body and feet after a day of hiking. Definitely a very recommandable hostel if you want to explore the park!

During the month of Feburary although the weather is cold the actual hostel is quiet. If one likes a relaxing vacation to see this awesome area then I reccomend a single room as this is well worth the money. Its, clean and nice. The best part of the service is the two ladies who both speak reasonable English (a must for this area) were incredibly very helpfull.

Seriously, this hostel is cold. The heaters in the rooms barely do anything to warm the rooms and the lobby is freezing cold. We spent all of our days very cold, and our stay would have been better if there was somewhere to be warm.

This hostel is located in an ideal location, only 10mins from the National Park. The rooms are clean and spacious. The girl at reception couldn't be any friendlier and she goes out of her way to help arrange any travel plans. The hostel was pretty quiet, but that was down to the time of year we visited (Spring Festival). Any travellers visiting Zhangjiajie, this hostel is highly recommended!!

In this remote part of China, it is difficult to find anyone who speaks even rudimentary English. Throughout our stay the front desk was manned by "Morning" who was a font of information. She told us where we should go, when and where to find buses, and even helped us book a hotel at our next destination, getting us a 10% discount.

Rooms are quite cold during the winter if you don't pay extra for heating. It was reasonably quiet when I was there, only 5-6 other guests, however this was during the low season. All in all, met some interesting people and had a good place to sleep

Great location to the park though in a very small town. We went there in end November and it was freezing cold. Even though we bout a controller for the heating system we were freezing all night! Beside the temperature we enjoyed our stay at the hostel
