We booked 4 bed room, but the space is really small. The location is fine, near Xiamen University, althought it's a little difficult to find, but once you find it, you will never get lost.

Surely recommend this place. Very friendly, helpful staff. Also good English. Rooms are clean and safe. Only little disappointment was that gate closed at midnight. Besides that I enjoyed my stay perfectly.

Hostel was comfortable and fine for a 5 day stay. Close to 'main attractions and plenty of restaurants nearby. Easy to find. Rooms are fine but look a bit tired. Hostel has a curfew at midnight which is a shame as the wi-if in the rooms is not that good. Staff very friendly and helpful and could speak good English. Excellent value for money. Would stay here again.

Beautiful premises, very cheap beers and just a nice place to relax for a couple of days. Although it's a little out of the way it's close to the bus station which will get you everywhere. Just for info: Bus 1 goes to the railway station and bus 21 goes to the ferry to GulangYu. Internet didn't work too well and is very slow. So don't expect to make any Skype calls any time soon. The other facilities were perfect and showers really clean. Unfortunately only one staff member spoke good English

Some of the mattresses were a bit hard but overall, all the staff were wonderful and accommodating, helping to add nights to our stay easily and reserving last minute day trips to the Hakka region. The breakfast was delicious!!! The location is also very convenient, very easy to find, well done all around!

The reception is just a few steps away, with friendly staff and information overload on what to see not just in Xiamen, but also in some nearby locations in Fujian. I booked my Hakka Tulou tour through reception. Convenient. They also sell drinks and some basic toiletries just in case you forget to bring some. They also serve food, served gourmet style and a bit pricy. Read More: http://www.ihcahieh.com/2013/02/xiamen-01-xiamen-international-youth.html

The hostel was ok. It's fairly cheap and wasn't bad. The building and facilities are generally a bit grubby but the bedding was clean. The six-bed dorm was really small but again it was ok. The staff don't speak much English. The bunk beds were actually two single beds nailed together which worried me a bit. I would stay here again but I wouldn't rave about it.

I stayed in the 6-bed dorm and was very happy with the facilities provided, except that the beds were very very squeaky and the mattresses were extremely thin! I still slept soundly though. I was also very happy that the staff provided towels and hairdryers free of charge. When I sat on my cardkey by accident and snapped it they gave me a replacement free of charge, which was kind of them. Overall this hostel was excellent and the 6-bed dorm in particular was so cheap!!

I had a fantastic stay in this Hostel for 3 nights. I found it to be a great place to practice Mandarin and meet new friends. Alice at the front desk was fantastic and acted as our tour guide one evening after she finished her shift. She speaks great English and really made me feel at home.

I've been in China 2 years now and stayed in lots of hostels but never had beds as hard as this place. The beds are a sheet of plywood with a very thin blanket over top. Location is quite good as it's near downtown and lots of buses come past frequently. Staff are also reasonably helpful. No seat on the western toilet is a bit of a problem at an international hostel.
