Ximen New Moon Hostel Reviews

This is not a typical "hostel". I only saw the staff at check-in and check-out. I didn't see another guest for my entire stay.

Rooms are different from advertised. False advertising. 1st room shown to us had not been cleaned. Reception is a confusing foot massage parlour with no signage re the "New Moon Hostel" We found the standard unacceptable and did not stay there.

The address leads you to a massage parlour. Then the person there will lead you to your accommodation which is a 5 minute walk. It's super hard to find the place as there isn't a signboard. Really frustrating looking for the place with all my luggage.

L'hotel ne se trouve pas à cette adresse. Mais à une trentaine de mètre sur la gauche à coté du marchand de légumes.Dans se batiment 2 hotels. Les derniers étages appartiennent au Ximen. Le magazin de massage de pieds est comme le concierge de l'hotel. Donc les horaires de se magazin correspond aux horaires de l'hotel. Si vous arriver en plein nuit. Posé vous des questions... Emplacement parfait pour découvrire le coté sud de la ville. Toilette pas propre. Chambre ok

I was alone and booked a double bed hoping for a bigger space. They gave me a room which was totally different from what is in the website. No secure locker. No table or chair. No complain about that. The bad thing is: my valuable artwork was stolen and despite repeatedly calling the owner and promised me to look into it, he didn't do something about it nor called me back or visited me in my room. I talked to the woman owner and promised the same thing, but also never got back to me. I was very disappointed and will never go back there again nor recommend this hostel to anyone!

위치좋음 마사지샵에서 체크인 하고 머무는곳은 따로 있음 6박 했는데 보통 친절했으나, 방 치워주시는 분께서 마지막날은 엉망으로 쓰던수건을 던져놓고 가셔서 기분이 매우 상했다. 보안도 괜찮고 거의 다 좋다.

The information is showing that Wifi is available in the room but is not.

The hostel is located at other area when we arrived (is not as per the address mentioned in the hostelworld when we made our reservation. - they converted a unit condominium into 4 hostel. - the cleanliness of the hostel terrible i.e dusty, toilet bowl dirty. - the hostel we stayed have not window at all. The build a small square hole, size 2x2 as window (this is horrible). i looked at safety point of view. - the hostel price is expensive with this type of service and facilities

I won't suggest people stay there. The contact address was a “Massage Shop,” so I was really confused if I went to the right place. I dialed the number listed on my booking inform, but no one answered. After 20 mins my keeping dialing for several times, someone picked it up and told me to go directly into the M-shop and talk to the clerk I was the tenant. Then the clerk took me 3 blocks away from M-shop to my room, which was renovated into 8 or 9 rooms from a condo. In short, it is a disaster.

Directions given on the map was outdated & wrong. The airconditioner, i thought, could be switched to a heater, but the remote control wasn't working. The air coming out from it stinks too. They had a "straw" mat on the bed, right under the bed sheet, which not only produces cold air, it was hard and uncomfortable. I was freezing all night. The toilet wasn't clean with black stains everywhere. The room wasn't sound proof. I could hear the conversation of people in the next room clearly

This is actually a budget hotel above another hotel. There's no common space or lobby. You check in at the massage place a few buildings over. (I don't recommend getting a massage there. It was extremely painful and in no way relaxing.) My bathroom and the adjacent room's bathroom were separated by a thin wall and they shared the same window. Not only do I hear my neighbour showering, but it was also possible to SEE into my neighbour's shower via the window's reflection. Not comfortable at all.

Checking in was a problem. It is better to have a clear and big sign to show the name of the Hostel at the reception counter as it is just the cashier in a foot massage shop called \"足滿足腳底按摩\". It would be better to install a set of table & chair in the room for guest to use. Ventilation was good. On the whole, it was alright to stay with its good price.

Booked an ensuite family room but they gave us a dorm room. The internet wasn't working on the first night. Though it worked the morning we left.

The location is good. My room was average but it is worth if you are spending most of the time outside. The hostel owner is also the boss of the massage shop nearby, she is a very kind and helpful person. I asked for an adapter at night but she could not find one in the shop, then she took me by taxi to the 24hrs-store and bought one, it was very impressed.

Hotel was very near Ximen station, which made it very convenient to visit Ximending and travel around taipei. Hotel had a big bed for one person and the toilet was spacious and clean. However the room\'s floor was a little dusty and without windows. But on the whole it was alright to stay in, and a steal at its price.

Very convenient location but don\'t expect anything else from this hostel. The deluxe single ensuite room was decent for the price. The rooms are not sound proof so it can be quite noisy when people are talking loudly along the corridor. And since there is no windows, the ventilation isn\'t that good especially of somebody smokes. The boss was friendly and flexible with the check out timing which is great for people taking the night flights.
