Great place hidden in a beautiful valley away from the crazy tourist hoards down in Jiuzhaigou village. The place is run by a tibetan family and you will experience amazing food, tibetan lifestyle, hospitality and culture. It is really a "homestay" worth the name!
My stay in Zhuo Ma home was a great experiance for me!

Zhuo Ma is certainly a place to recommend if you are looking for authentic tibetain house, food and culture. The lovely tenant is preparing diner, breakfast and lunch to take away included in the price. The dowstairs bathrooms does not have all modern comfort but it has hot water shower and proper toilets. The rooms upstairs were clean and the tibetain cosy bed was amazing ! The place is hard to find, but they organise pick up from Abuluzi, their family restaurant close to the park entrance.
This home stay is a real cultural experience. The Tibetan home is located about 15 km from Jiuzhaigou National Park. The family that run this home stay are so kind. They provided free drop-off and pick-up from Jiuzhaigou. They also helped with arranged a ride to Huanglong Nature Reserve and helped us to buy bus tickets to Songpan. As a home stay, all of your meals are included.
We were instantly entranced by the gorgeous scenery and quaint Tibetan village where Zhou Ma and her family live. More importantly though, their heartwarming friendliness and cheerfulness, and Ama's infectious laughter and amazing cooking skills made our stay completely worthwhile! Listen to their stories, cuddle their cat, sip a cup of yak butter tea, and catch a ride with them to their restaurant in town every morning which is a short walk from the national park. We would definitely come back!
They are super nice, very helpful with all information u may need, food was very good, I loved the experience of staying in a traditional Tibetan house. They speak good enough English to assist u and have a conversation while sharing breakfast or dinner, but was also a good opportunity to practice my chinese. Only suggestion would be to have wifi at the house, but they wanna keep it in a traditional way, so it might be not convenient if u really need it. Anyway it's an amazing experience!
Ama and her two sons are simply amazing! IEverything was so laid back and welcoming the moment I arived. English is limited which doesn't make a difference in communication. We laughed a lot together and I was sad to leave! Everyone who is looking for an authentic, off the beaten track accommodation: this should be your pick! Thanks for everything, you guy made me HAPPY HAPPY!
We really enjoyed our stay at Zhou Ma's homestay, Ke Zhu and Ama are awesome! They both try their hardest to learn and speak a little english and are always nice and happy. Ama prepared lovely homecooked meals every day. The house is quite far from the park, so you really have to rely on the transfer service of Khe Zhu, because a taxi costs you 40RMB each way. Downside to that is, that if you have lazy/late other guest you might end up leaving 30 mins later then planned.
such a cool experience! highly recommend this, especially if you don't have time to make it to Tibet. The grandma is so nice, and the food is delicious - we were well fed. her English isnt bad. two nights though, we were asked to eat outside instead of comfortably inside where we had settled (it gets cold at night) because there were other non-homestaying visitors being entertained inside. it was awkward and kind of rude frankly since we were paying customers, but what can you do?
