The Açucena house was built during the roaring 20's and it has been in the same family since the mid 70's. Extensive restoration works took place recently to refurbish and update this beautiful house to modern day standards but all the stucco and wood works were kept for your delight. This property features stunning views of Sintra's mountain range, a world heritage site, and the countryside down to the Atlantic coast, just 11 km/7 miles away.
The location of the Casa Açucena, in a quiet street with parking, at a mere 10 min walk from Sintra's train station and a 20 min from the old city centre makes it an ideal base to discover the charming Lisbon and all the palaces, castles and nature Sintra is renowned for.
The vintage furniture was carefully restored, new hotel standard beds and linens were added for improved comfort and all the bathroom facilities were updated. You can enjoy the complementary breakfast including home make cakes, jams and the famous Iberian hams inside the main room by the fireplace in the wintery days or by the pool facing south and the mountain range during the long summers in Portugal. High speed complementary internet wi-fi access is available throughout the property and we provide a garage for motorbikes and bicycles. Laundry facilities are also available.
