About

We are located in the center of Kathmandu, with most of the UNESCO Heritage sites and the tourist center of Thamel within walking distance. My house is still off the main road, with relatives and extended families living around. That makes it a safe, less noisy, and welcoming place with more chances of cultural immersion and knowing the Nepalese family life.

The house is a 18 years old concrete building with a red brick front. Our neighborhood and the house stood strong during the April 2015 earthquake. Even though I have a small yard, there are plenty of trees and flowers. We have adopted an eco-friendly lifestyle. So, we use less plastic and compost biodegradable waste. I use the manure to grow vegetables on the rooftop. We have got solar-heated water and backup lights. We filter rainwater and harvest it.

We just have 3 rooms allocated for homestay guests. But we are expanding to the neighborhood as a community homestay. I believe in enforcing an eco-friendly lifestyle through tourism. All rooms have a kitchenette and an attached bathroom.

Homestay guests can join us in the kitchen and learn to make Nepalese cuisine.
