In the heart of Syracuse's historical centre lies island of Ortigia, selected by the Greeks as a location for founding the city.

Here, in a characteristic and peaceful alley, just a few steps from Arethusa's Fountain and Piazza Duomo, in a XVIIth century palace is the Casa Vacanze Aretusa, a holiday house which was completely restructured in 2020.
The holiday house offers one- or two-room apartments, all perfectly equipped with the most modern comforts: en-suite bathrooms, linens, sat TV (broad selection of TV channels from around the world), equipped kitchenettes, refrigerators, air conditioning/heating, safe, telephone in the room.
The breakfast is served every morning on the roof terrace, with nice views over the harbour and the rooftops of Ortigia.
Parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is needed) and costs EUR 20 per day.

Cancellation policy 3 days
Check-in time: from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Do not worry if you arrive before the check-in time (2:00 pm),
you can store your luggage at the Reception.

The Reception desk is open until 8:00 pm
After 8pm it is possible to “self check-in”

Lovely family-run hotel, both the hotel and family. Great location near the bottom of Ortigia. Lots of late opening restaurants around. Delightful rooftop breakfast overlooking the sea.

This was hands down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at, I wish I could give it higher than 10 stars. The host and staff were incredibly friendly, proactive, and so helpful. Stefano helped me and my friends book restaurant reservations, a boat tour, and gave us tons of recommendations on things to do that were all amazing. The rooms were spacious, modern and very nice. Over this is an amazing hostel for a great price and run by the nicest people. Highly highly highly recommend

I would highly recommend Aretusa Vacanze for a place to stay in Syracuse. The location made it easy to walk everywhere. Very clean, large rooms, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The best part of our stay was the free breakfast every morning with cheeses, jams, pastries, meats, coffee. The price was extremely affordable for the value and the treatment here. It deserves all the awards it has received.
