Hostal Los Cheles

This hostel was pretty horrific. Absolutely nothing against the staff whatsoever, as they were all very nice. But the rooms feel so dirty, the mattresses had a vile odour and there were rats running around in our bathroom during the night. You really are getting what you paid for.

I got a private room. It was filthy. Lots of dirt everywhere. There were used toilet tissues in the bathroom trash from the previous guest. No sheet, no toilet, no soap, the a/c did not work even though there was signs advertising a/c. Also, no one spoke english. Or maybe they just pretended to do they didn't have to help me.

I beg you not to book here. The room was absolutely filthy with an animal nest protruding from the ceiling in the bathroom and falling onto the floor. Dirty pillows and sheets. I stayed about 20 minutes in total. The worker said I had to pay for the night which I was willing to just to leave. I came back the next day to pay and spoke to the owner. He blamed the worker/maid. Said I didn’t have to pay that it would be coming out of their pay. I told him I didn’t want that. He said, well, I shouldn’t have to pay for it!!! I ended up not paying the remainder but forfeited my deposit so they wouldn’t be out of pocket. Disgustingly run and disgusting place. The worker William was lovely though - very kind. I reported the place to Hostel World who didn’t care.
