A really cozy vibe, and a good location. Really comfy beds as well! The concept around journaling was really cute and helped better connect with the hostel and the city.

Overall comfy place… but chilly as many Japanese spaces are. Staff are very friendly and even come to hang out in their time off. That says how welcoming the common area is. I will second the concern of others that the smell of kerosene was strong in some rooms, but it wasn’t bad in my room. Heat from the a/c wall unit was plenty. One small pet peeve: please add a little more heat and light in the sink area of the bathroom. Other than that staying was an excellent, if a bit earthy experience.

Hosel extremely basic, old, no beds just mattress. The location is very convenient, just steps from the train station. Bathrooms and showers only on one floor, so if you are on a different floor it’s not ideal, specially because the hallways are cold. There are no elevators. The portable heater/ac in the room is hard to control. If you just need to overnight for one night it’s ok, but I would not recommend a longer stay
