Reviews weren’t lying when they say it’s very loud (may as well be sleeping on the street) - probably on the busiest road in Ipoh. Only one hot shower, bathrooms right next to the room & someone was phlegming constantly for about 10 minutes in the morning which was gross. No soap or shower gel. Bedding and towels were old and mismatched. Very flat pillows. Weird vibe and not welcoming staff. Poor selection of kitchenware and no sink to wash up. Room had AC and there was a cold water filter.

Considering it’s a budget hostel, it feels unfair to complain. However, there’s no staff on site, so paying for our stay was difficult and caused some anxiety. The hostel has an off putting vibe, probably because the only security is the code on the front door. The bedsheets didn’t seem like they’d been cleaned, nor did the bathrooms. One of the bathroom doors doesn’t actually close. But again - you get what you pay for.

We weren’t expecting anything luxury for the price but unfortunately the property was incredibly unclean and had a strange vibe. We did not end up staying for the duration of our booking and left after one night. Bedding had stains, smelled like it had not been changed since the last person and there was something sprouting out of mould on the bathroom door which suggested it hadn’t had a good scrub in a long time! Not one to write bad reviews but overall not the best experience :(
