House of Somos, Avellanas

House of Somos Avellanas was born from a simple idea: bringing together everything we love in one place. Surf, good food, art, design, movement and, above all, people with stories to tell.

Surrounded by lush greenery, we're just steps away from dramatic cliffs, white-sand beaches and some of the area's best surf spots. The space draws inspiration from traditional Guanacaste architecture, with its large open ranch-style structures, spacious verandas, shaded areas, gardens and a way of life where indoor and outdoor living are never entirely separate.

The ranch is the first thing to welcome you. It sets the tone for the entire place and serves as our main gathering spot. Here you'll find reception and Somos Restaurant & Bar, where you can start your morning with a coffee, stay for a meal or extend the evening with one last drink. There's also the Somos Surf Shop, featuring our collections, brands we love and a selection of boards made at our factory in Santa Teresa. Upstairs, you'll find The Sweat Den, a space dedicated to movement and recovery, complete with a gym, sauna and cold plunge.

From there, everyone finds their own place. There's a spacious swimming pool, a guest kitchen, a pool table and plenty of cosy corners to read, work, meet people or do absolutely nothing. Our communal spaces are designed for sharing experiences, but also for slowing down whenever you need to.

We all travel differently, and our rooms reflect that. Choose from King Rooms, Double Full Rooms and Deluxe Dorms, each with four full-size beds. Whether you're travelling solo, as a couple or with friends, you might just end up meeting people here who become part of your journey for much of the week.

And if you're looking for something more peaceful, our private villas are tucked away behind the house, surrounded by greenery and offering more space and privacy to settle in at your own pace and unwind.

At the end of the day, that's what Somos has always been about: people from different worlds coming together in one place.
