I really recommend you pay the extra dollar to go for the standard room, which has a window; otherwise there is a high chance that the ceiling will be moldy. Also credit card/foreign bank account-Alipay was not accepted - have your cash ready if you're 外国人. However, when both of our lockers didn't work, the receptionist let us change to beds with working lockers no problem. Also the lounge is really nice, bathrooms are mostly clean and the location of the hostel is also pretty decent.

First the positive things: the location is very good, the subway is close by and the CBD is in walking distance. But the rest of the hostel is not so nice, staff didn’t speak English and were a bit unfriendly. The bathroom is not very clean and my room was very stinky. I found way better hostels in China for half the price...

The location of the hostel is perfect! You can walk through the city center and even walk to the boarder to Hongkong from there. Our dorms were really nice, every bed has its own safe and a curtain, so you get some privacy. The bathroom was really clean. Only drawback, there was only squat toilet in the bathroom, as well as in the common bathrooms.The common area was not so nice, full of stuff and not really clean. The room for drying clothes was too humid and full, better use the dryer.
