Papaya Beach – Beachfront Hostel | Mirissa

Papaya Beach is a brand-new beachfront hostel in Mirissa, built with a relaxed colonial–Mediterranean feel and a true island atmosphere. We’re right by the ocean — the kind of place where you wake up to the sound of waves and end the day with sunset drinks by the pool.
Mornings start slow with yoga on our rooftop overlooking the sea, and from there the day can go wherever you want it to. Lounge by the pool, grab a coffee at the bar, head out surfing, or join one of our daily activities.
Papaya is all about good people and good energy. We host regular social nights like karaoke, yacht days, club nights, Sri Lankan cooking classes, whale watching trips, jungle safaris, and spontaneous sunset hangouts that turn into unforgettable evenings.
If you’re keen to surf, we run beginner-friendly surf programs from Level 1 to Level 5 — perfect whether you’re trying it for the first time or looking to improve.
Our restaurant serves breakfast daily from 7:30 AM, and the kitchen is open until 10:00 PM. The bar plays relaxed daytime tunes from 8:30 AM and shifts into laid-back sunset vibes in the evening. After 10:00 PM, we keep things calm so everyone can rest easy.

Papaya Beach is adults-only (17+) and has CCTV in outdoor common areas for safety and comfort.
Whether you’re here to surf, meet people, work on your tan, or just slow down for a while — Papaya Beach is about sunsets, community, and easy island living.
