Tarik Jeremiah Brown: Hush Harbor

Tarik Jeremiah Brown’s Hush Harbor invites you into a site-specific installation that reimagines the Sunroom as a contemporary hush harbor—a hidden refuge inspired by Black American histories of survival and faith. Through sculpture, moving images, and sound, the exhibition creates a space reflecting collective care and spiritual connection tied to land and memory. You’ll be immersed in an environment balancing history with present-day reflection, encouraging quiet contemplation and introspection. The experience unfolds with a subtle rhythm, where each element adds to a layered sense of shelter and shared presence. It offers a chance to engage with themes of resilience and belief without words, making it accessible whether you come alone or with others. The installation’s design invites you to slow down and consider how spaces hold meaning beyond their physical form. This event resonates quietly but deeply, offering a moment of calm and connection.
