The Hapa Project Alaska

18 Sep, 2026 - 16 Mar, 2027

Anchorage Museum

The Hapa Project Alaska presents a portrait installation by artist Kip Fulbeck, featuring 86 Alaskans photographed at the Anchorage Museum. Each portrait is paired with a handwritten response to "Who are you?" inviting reflection on identity through personal stories and images. The exhibit offers a quiet space to consider how people see themselves and their place in the world. Visitors can also join select portrait sessions to contribute their own image and story, adding a personal layer to the collection. Beyond the portraits, the project sparks a subtle dialogue about belonging and self-expression that resonates across backgrounds. It offers a chance to engage with diverse perspectives in an intimate, non-performative way. Whether alone or with others, you’ll find moments encouraging reflection and connection without pressure. The installation’s pace allows you to absorb each story thoughtfully, making it a meaningful stop for anyone curious about identity and community.
