Writing Hike: Sensory Hike

9 Oct, 2026

Hotel Regina

If you enjoy nature and creative expression, this sensory hike offers a unique way to combine both. Guided by students from the Swiss Literature Institute, you’ll walk from Mürren to Spielbodenalp, stopping at stations that invite you to focus on your senses—smelling, seeing, touching, and listening to the surroundings. Along the way, you’ll have time to jot down your impressions, even if you don’t consider yourself a writer. The three-hour journey includes a picnic break on the plateau, so packing a lunch and comfortable clothes is recommended. The experience encourages you to slow down and notice details you might usually miss, turning the hike into a thoughtful exploration. Whether traveling solo or with friends, the mix of fresh air and creative prompts offers a refreshing change of pace. If the weather shifts, the group moves indoors, keeping the focus on sensory observation and writing without interruption. It’s a relaxed way to connect with the landscape and your own thoughts.
