Christmas Carol Concerts

York Minster’s Christmas Carol Concerts offer a classic way to welcome the festive season, with the Choir of York Minster performing traditional and well-loved Christmas music. You’ll hear seasonal readings from special guest Ian Kelsey, adding a warm storytelling touch to the evening. The concerts take place in the impressive Nave of York Minster, where the soaring architecture adds to the sense of occasion. Joining in with the carols is encouraged, making it a shared experience that feels both joyful and familiar. Alongside the choir, the Yorkshire Volunteer Band brings a rich musical backdrop that complements the voices and readings beautifully. The mix of choral and instrumental music creates a rhythm that keeps the evening engaging without feeling rushed. Whether you come with friends or on your own, you’ll find the event welcoming and easy to enjoy. It’s a chance to soak up festive traditions in a setting that feels both grand and inviting.
