Welcome to Casa Felipe San Pedro De Laguna

The little eco-hostel under the shadow of the San Pedro Volcano. Here we strive to provide a relaxing experience for our guests and while keeping our environmental impact low. Please join us on your next holiday in our relaxing and spacious garden full of fruit trees, herbs, and exotic plants. To implement our ecological beliefs we designed and built a water filtration system that uses plants and volcanic rock to clean water for reuse so that our beautiful lake stays clean. Accommodation and Facilities
Casa Felipe is able to receive up to 35 guests at one time. We offer 5 private rooms and 3 dorms depending on your travel/budget needs. A fully equipped kitchen has the utensils to make you feel at home. Each day we offer free organic coffee to our guests and even try a delicious homemade dinner. Plenty of space to socialize with other guests by playing billiards or sipping colorful drinks served straight from the Guatemalan designed bamboo bar. Or take spend some alone time relaxing in a hammock, whatever your heart desires.

Location and travel logistics
There are boat rides arriving from Panajachel every 20 minutes and plenty of buses arriving from the capital city or Xela. If coming from Antigua, Guatemala there many offers from shuttle companies coming this way daily.Casa Felipe is located in a tranquil part of town with fast access to the lake, boats and restaurants. In 5 minutes you can hit the party area of town if your in the mood for live music.

Activities
You will never get bored on the Lake. Whether hiking San Pedro volcano, watching the sunrise on the top of Indian Nose, horse riding to explore coffee plantations or kayaking across Lake Atitlan - these are only few examples of how time can be spent in San Pedro.

1.Building Materials
The dormitories and private rooms are made of adobe ( dirt mixed with other organic materials) which is thermic, and free of toxic cement elements.
Community (hang-out) area is made of locally sourced bamboo that in 4-6 years grows back to its normal adult size.

2. Organic Cleaning Products
Our Green cleaning products are 100% homemade. Made of baking soda, peroxide, sometimes alcohol, eucalyptus, clove, lemon plant. Our soap contains no phosphorus.

3. Biodigestor
The biodigestor is designed to clean the sewage water. Our absorption well is made of pure clay which makes filtering highly effective. This information and construction is validated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala.

4. Biofilter
The biofilters are made of pebbles, sand, earthy materials, semi-aquatic and aquatic plants that eliminate phosphorus, nitrogen and other harmful elements from the water. Those chemicals are the main cause of cyanobacteria that contaminates the lake. Our future project for gray water, which will be used for irrigation of edible plants and sanitary hand water.
