It's a big place, but it was very empty. The room was clean. However, there was a bad smell in the room, but the staff helped me to change the room. The location is not the best for enjoying Rio in my opinion. It was hard to meet anyone here. It's a chain hostel so there is not a very authentic feeling to anything. The staff were nice though. The washing machines didn't work. I was alone in my room which was in a way nice but not good in terms fo socializing. The renovation was fairly well made.

Blankets STINK like mildew! Switched beds, same issue, gross bedding. Safe property with security guard. I extended by one night (thought they'd have a clean bed - it also had mildew) and they charged me over double the price I had booking through Hostel World.

My room was filled with mold and mildew. I knew from the second i opened the door to my room. It smelled like mold and mildew so bad that I couldn't even sleep there. I went and slept at a friends Airbnb couch thats how bad room 11's mold issue it. They need to fix that ASAP.
