Casa de Olas - Eco Rustic Hostel

Casa de Olas is an eco-rustic hostel located on a hill, surrounded by nature. We offer basic amenities in a calm and relaxed environment, ideal for travelers looking to disconnect, meditate, and reflect. It’s a perfect place to unwind in our hammocks while enjoying one of the best views and sunsets in San Juan del Sur. The hostel has shared areas and a communal kitchen. This is not a luxury hotel, but an authentic and simple place, deeply connected to nature.

We are just 3 km from the center of San Juan del Sur. From here, you can see breathtaking ocean views and sunsets. In the mornings and evenings, you will hear the gentle calls of monkeys and the songs of colorful birds.

Most of our rooms are private, although we also offer shared dorms. Our accommodations are rustic and basic, designed for a simple, nature-focused experience. While we do not offer air conditioning or hot water, ceiling fans help keep the space cool with a lower environmental impact. Thanks to the hillside location and the privacy it provides, guests can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere ideal for those who appreciate calm, nature, and a truly relaxing experience.

Casa de Olas is a place to rest, move at your own pace, or work in a quiet space. Our pool, relaxed vibe, and friendly staff make it easy to feel at home. Casa de Olas is more than a place to sleep, it’s a home for long stays, where it’s easy to feel settled and comfortable for as long as you wish. Here, you will meet people who also value peace, health, and nature.

For beach lovers, we have daily shuttles to Remanso or Maderas, and we can also arrange surf lessons. Whether you are new to surfing or experienced, this is the perfect place to connect with the ocean.

Casa de Olas is not just a hostel. You will share the space with the family who manages the hostel and with volunteers from different countries. It’s a great opportunity to experience community life, respect shared spaces, and follow simple house guidelines so everyone can enjoy a peaceful stay.

PAYMENTS CASH ONLY: We accept cash only at the hostel. There are several ATMs in town, and if you arrive early, you’re welcome to leave your luggage with us and head to town to withdraw cash.

CARD PAYMENTS: Depending on the booking platform and the applicable cancellation policy, charges may be processed using the payment information provided by the guest at the time of booking. These charges could be applied at any time.

CHECK-IN: Check-in starts at 15:00 pm. and ends at 22:00 pm.
We do not have a luggage storage room. To ensure you have the best possible stay, we kindly recommend planning your arrival from 15:00 onwards for check-in. Before that time, rooms and beds will not be available, as our team is focused on housekeeping. If you arrive earlier, you’re welcome to leave your luggage in the hallway. To help you enjoy the facilities without any inconvenience, we recommend completing the check-in and registration first. This also allows our reception team to properly welcome you and share important information about the hostel, including facilities, shuttles, and other services.

FREE SHUTTLES TO TOWN. We offer a free daily shuttle between Casa de Olas and the San Juan del Sur town center. Please confirm your spot by email or WhatsApp before the trip. Spaces are limited, so booking in advance is important. The pickup point is at Social Pool & Patio.

NO RESTAURANT SERVICE.
We do not have a restaurant.
A fresh, delicious breakfast is included every morning.
For other meals, you have several options:
1.Cook your own meals in our communal kitchen.
2.Go to town (3 km away) for many food options. You can take our shuttle and get picked up near the supermarket if you need groceries like oil, spices, vegetables, or meats.
3.Order delivery from local restaurants and enjoy your meal at the hostel.

NO LUGGAGE STORAGE
We do not have a storage room for luggage.
Please plan to arrive at or after check-in time (15:00 PM).
If you arrive before check-in, you may leave your bags in the hallway and return later.

CASA DE OLAS NICARAGUA CANCELATION POLICY AND CONDITIONS:
(For all guests booking directly or through third-party platforms)

We understand that travel plans can change, so here’s how our cancellation policy works depending on the rate you choose:

Non-Refundable Rate:
• Guests will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel at any time.
• In case of a no-show, the total price will also be charged.
• A prepayment of the total amount is required at any time after booking.

Standard Rate (Flexible – 1 Day):
• Guests can cancel free of charge up to 1 day before their arrival date.
• If the cancellation is made within 1 day of arrival, the cost of the first night will be charged.
• In case of a no-show, the total price will also be charged.
• A deposit is required after booking to secure your reservation.
• Balance payment upon arrival by cash. Taxes included.

Please note:

All changes and cancellations must be made directly through the platform where the reservation was originally made. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to make changes to bookings through our end due to system limitations. Using a centralized booking system, we can only follow what is reflected and updated by the platforms.
