I stayed on a Saturday. It was very noisy because of the restaurant and bar downstairs. The noice did not stop until 4am, we got almost no sleep. The mattresses on bunk beds are very thin. The showers are all the way downstairs, so you have to pass the people in the restaurants on your way. The rooms were clean though, the bathroom as well, can't say the same about the shower but it was fine. The breakfast was nice. Overall would have been more than okay if it weren't for the noice.

Backpackers was a mixed experience for my girlfriend and I... PROs - Location can't be beat. Right in the middle of town; lots of shops and restaurants in the area. - Clean, awesome food, full bar, games/books available, great vibe CONs - You're going to (over)pay for the food and drinks, even given Iceland prices. - Laundry: Once you download the app to pay, you realize they want to charge you 1400kr/$10USD per load, for each of the washer and dryer (so, $20 total to clean and dry a load)
