Braemar Youth Hostel

Braemar Youth Hostel is an impressive former shooting lodge standing within extensive grounds in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. It's an ideal base for exploring Royal Deeside and the mighty Cairngorms and in winter is a great location for skiing and boarding at Glenshee and The Lecht. Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s Scottish home, is nearby (open between April-July) and there are many distilleries to visit including Lochnagar. Other activities include hillwalking, mountain biking, wildlife watching and golf.

Braemar Youth Hostel offers a mix of traditional interiors and modern furnishings with many homely touches such as big comfy sofas, a large self-catering kitchen and dining room. The youth hostel also provides a good range of rooms including many private and family rooms. A popular choice with families, groups and outdoor enthusiasts looking for budget accommodation.

Dogs are now welcome at Braemar when guests book a private room. A small fee of five pounds per dog per night will be charged. Please note that all dogs must be booked in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated.

Check in is from 5pm to 9:30pm Sunday to Thursday and 5pm to 10pm Friday and Saturday. Check out is by 10am.

The youth hostel building is normally closed from 11am to 4:30pm except Saturday when it is open all day
