Wonderful place in the center of San Francisco. Lots of lovely folks. Went to the Golden Gate Bridge with a fellow from Spain by the name of Carlo. Very fine guy.

My experience was good staying at your hostel. Something that I would actively recommend is thinking on the language of instructions/notification to more positive language. For eg: in the kitchen instead of saying 'DO NOT STEAL FOOD' it could be 'Respect other's food' and similar for other signs. It will have long lasting impact on all your visitors which might create far more richer experience.

    Fabulous

Everything was fine, really the day staff was much better. The guy who works nights also never gave me my cash key deposit back and it was too early in the am for me to notice (not a morning person) and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially after he was rude and condescending to me when I got back the night before.

Location, cleanliness & else were good, but the only staff member who I encountered was a lazy Indian guy with the worst customer service skills. Zero enthusiasm, not answering questions, replying to texts while slowly serving a customer. Seriously the worst hostel staff encounter I’ve ever had.

    Good

We had a private room and bathroom which were both good sizes. It was in the basement on the street and hostel residents would sit on the grate by it and smoke which did get into the room. So we had to have the windows closed all the time, and as it's next to the kitchen the smells were a bit overwhelming for me. The location we felt was great. It was ok value for San Francisco I think.

The facilities are too old and it gives me a not so good feeling. Besides, some of the beds are really old and it’s a bit fragile.

One of the most important factor for rating a hostel as a nice place to stay - is that there is a cozy shared hang out place for people to socialize, have a chat, a drink or just to chill. This isn’t the case at this hostel. There is a sofa near the reception to sit, but not at all cozy, and kitchen in the basement isn’t nice either. The free breakfast is coffee and tea and dough so you can make your own pancake. Positive: The rooms, bed and blankets etc are super clean and cheap to stay here

I've never seen a hostel with less fucks given. Not even hand soap is provided. Carpet was completely wet from the leaking radiator. Cold water in the shower. Only one electric socket in the room. Bad smell throughout. Clean sheets, no bugs, good location, and a helpful girl at the reception were a positive surprise.
