Had a wonderful stay at Astor. I felt so at home and also safe at a time when travel is scary and uncertain. Location is super clean and well taken care of & staff take all precautions to keep guests safe and comfortable. INSANE location too, there is no better location to stay in London! Rooms are spacious and have a gorgeous view of the British Museum, comfy beds. Staff was really great explaining the city to me and helping me get around. Great vibes, will definitely stay here in the future.

Big thanks to the lovely folk at the hostel for making my trip down to London during this tricky time with COVID-19 that bit more relaxing and reassuring. They offer cleaning supplies for the room so you can ensure the surfaces you touch are kept clean. Social distancing was maintained in my dorm, by effectively operating at

I only stayed here a night between an evening flight and morning train. I was in an all female dorm and it was fine and clean. The room was hot, bed hard, and the noise loud. Someone was vacuuming at 10pm also. Toilet not on same floor as room. The price was a bargain and location was great though. Not sure I’d stay again but was ok for a quick night.

I really liked this hostel except for the beds - they were too short for my tallness and the upper bunk felt thoroughly unsafe. The one employee at reception who I met coming in was nice but coming from an informal country I found her constant polite use of the word 'ma'am' kinda off-putting. I guess I am just not used to people using honourifics anymore!

This review is based on how the hostel is dealing during covid. I have been to a few hostel and the way they are dealing with it is the worst. Theres no common area or kitchen at all. No fridge or kettle. The rooms are extremely basic. If the price was more economic would be better as its like sitting in a little prison at the end of the day. Staff are really friendly, location is pretty good. Hostel is small. Still had a great time in London but just be aware of this before booking.
