Staff were very polite and helped with any questions I had. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet (apart from a snorer which I won’t blame the hostel for). I was up and out early each day so got quick use of the bathroom facilities (which were very clean), but I could imagine in rush hour there may be a bit of a wait to use them. Overall, a great option for doing London on a budget, and in a great location. I will definitely stay again!

Location was fantastic. The building felt super secure and safe, which was a huge plus for us as we had a lot of our things with us. Tons of stuff we could rent for free like locks and adaptors. Linens were nice and beds were comfy. Reasonably quiet. We were really excited to learn that dinner was free and breakfast was only one pound. Both were hearty and yummy. I am vegan and there was always lots I could eat! Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hostel was a great place to stay. It was so central to everything and there are three tube stations within easy walking distance. The staff were always there to help if you needed anything. I appreciate that they don’t try to get money out of you at every chance - there are lots of free things included. I felt very safe. I also liked the giant lockers stored under the bed.

This is a good hostel, the location is great just a few minutes walking to the underground, neighborhood it's beautiful, it's an old building but they've managed it to make it a nice place to stay, room's were not big but ok power sockets on every bed with usb entries and light, maybe the bathrooms could use some improving, the showers need a stood or something to put your clothes and a place to put the toiletries. They offer a simple but good breakfast for 1£ and this goes to charity.

    Very Good

    03 Oct 2019
Weirdest set up I've seen in a hostel. The two building situation was inconvenient but doable. Bathrooms weren't on the same floor and very small. Not the cleanest. Rooms were really outdated and carpeted. Not the comfiest bed. I will say though that for the price and location I can see it being a good value. Staff was friendly. Free dinner if you can get there before it's gone.

For me, the most important thing in a hostel, are the rooms and the beds. When the rooms are spacious and the beds firm, then I'm quicky satisfied. Considering these criteria, Astor Museum Inn must be one of the worst hostels I have ever stayed in. Eight squeaky beds (which are too small for anyone over 1.85m) crammed into a non-ventilated room-- lacking any kind of thought/originality/comfort. Even plugs and shelves are too much to ask. Atmosphere and location ok, but it's far from enough.

I was in a four bed mixed dorm at the top floor. The stairs to that top floor were super steep and small. The room was small with storage underneath the beds. My bed was rather uncomfortable and the mattress above me pretty gross. The showers were ok, but there was a bit of mold on the ceiling. There was only one toilet on my floor. The people in my room were very friendly, so was the staff.
