Azul Cielo is definitely one of the best hostals I ever stayed. It has an awesome vibe. Everyone there was so nice and friendly. Here I have to mention our handsome front desk boy Marty. He is the best!! He is always there whenever I need help and we became really good friends. Overall the place is clean and quiet at night. Breakfast is awesome! You have fruit, cereal and one main dish. The main dish changes everyday when I stayed there. Definitely come back to Azul Cielo next time in Oaxaca.

Really enjoyed my stay & even extended by a night! Great city with so much food, arts & culture to explore, and excursions just outside the city. Would definitely recommend Azul Cielo - friendly, down to earth staff, tours easy to book at front desk, and really nice common space & terrace with hammocks & diff seating. And free breakfast of cereal, fruit & a rotating Oaxacan main plate!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Hostel Azul Cielo. The accommodation was as described. The breakfasts included a traditional regional plate, which varied from day-to-day, as well as cereal, fruit, and coffee/tea. The guests were multi-national, and covered a wide age range. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Marty was extremely helpful, answering all of our questions. We would definitely stay at the Hostel Azul Cielo if we were to return to Oaxaca.

Very clean. Amazing free breakfast. The staff helped with any needs or questions I may have had. The location was very safe walking into Centro Evan after dark, but it is a bit of a walk. Nearby local market and a good coffee shop. The community kitchen is provisioned for very simple cooking.

I love this place. Staff can’t be beat: patient, kind, helpful, always available. They have gone out of their way to help me and have so much helpful info. Good English, too. If you like art or nature, you’re in for a treat! FILLED with handmade furniture, and native plants and art. Lots of communal space/quiet spots, and beauty everywhere you look. Dorms can be noisy, quiet hours help. My bed wasn’t great; on the top bunk I felt every movement below. Lockers on small side. Solid breakfast.

Had a very good time in the Hostel. The hostel is very social and has everything you need. The breakfast is super delicious! They could promote their activities a little more also the information about the public buses is not compleatly correct or there are cheaper options.

Love this hostel! AMAZING common spaces including a courtyard, terrace with a small bar, lots of little nooks to relax in and a rooftop patio. The whole place is decorated with art and filled with plants. The dorm rooms are quite basic. I stayed in the 4-bed female dorm, each bed had curtains, an outlet, and a light. One night I stayed in the deluxe private room and it was incredible: super comfy bed with a great writing desk and a flat screen. Very sociable atmosphere, but quieter after 11.

Lovely hostel a little far out from the main square (15mins). We stayed in a twin room which was spacious and clean with its own en-suite and little tv. Cooked breakfast was lovely with fruit, cereal and a plate of hot food plus bread tea and coffee. Not too noisy, also not a lot of traveller interaction and no activities from what I could see. Overall a friendly and quiet oasis in a buzzing little city.

    Very Good

Super lovely and welcoming staff. We had a wonderful Christmas dinner there. Met some friendly people. Not the best location, and there are only two female showers that were a bit dirty. Also the rooms near the kitchen can be quite noisy. Great breakfast!!

Pretty standard, no-frills. The 10-bed dorm was close to the kitchen so a bit noisy. The beds were quite flimsy (the ladder and guard rail weren't fixed, beds moved a lot). The beds also weren't made daily, making it feel like a bit of a mess when you enter. There are few showers but no space to keep your towel or clothes and a bit awk to change in the main area because of the saloon doors. Not a bad option, and the courtyard/common area is nice, but the dorms aren't spectacular.
