We're the first non-profit youth hostel organisation in Paris – so you can have a budget stay in a beautiful district. Based in an 18th-century townhouse (built by explorer Bougainville and gifted by Napoleon to his mistress – there's a story for you!) our hostel is full of authentic French culture. Use the original décor of our lounge as the backdrop to your ‘Bonjour Paris’ selfie before jumping on the free Wi-Fi to post pictures or Skype home.

Location

From our location in the 9th arrondissement, you can catch most must-see sights on foot. Jump on line B of the RER at the airport, get off at Gare du Nord and walk two minutes to Gare de Magenta. From there, take line E to Gare Haussmann–Saint-Lazare and you're just 8 minutes from our door. Check out the local bars of the Pigalle district, a 10-minute walk away, before you head to the Moulin Rouge, 12 minutes down the road. Round off the day by getting a view from the Sacré Cœur, 18 minutes away on foot.

Rooms and Dorms

Choose where you want to snooze – we have mixed or female-only dorms. You’ll find under-bed lockers to keep your backpack and belongings safe (and out of the way). Plus, linen is free, so you can save space in your luggage for souvenirs. Need a towel or travel adaptor? Rent them from reception for a few euros.

Extras and activities

Come and say hi to our multilingual staff at our 24-hour reception! They'll help you navigate the city and give you a free city map so you can get to know the local neighbourhood straight away. Once you’ve done the sightseeing, settle down with a book from the exchange in our café. Or, pull up a seat in our historic courtyard and have a cold beer with friends.

Overall a good hostel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only complaints would be more plugs in the room. Room was 18 people and only had 4 plugs. Also the showers were a little cold for November but not unbearable. Good overall for a budget option in Paris

Good and calm place. The only problem is they don't accept any card. You must be prepared to pay with money. I spent one hour trying to find a ATM at 2am

Friendly staff. Some issues with facilities such as temperamental outlets, cold shower water, and no lockers, but for a short and cheap (!) stay, it was sufficient.

    Good

The Good: historic architecture, location, breakfast, courtyard, dining rooms, lobby, helpful staff. The Bad: no lockers, lack of power outlets throughout, spartan accommodations/bunks. The Ugly: saw a rat run into the kitchen one evening. The stair and hallway lights on my floor didn't work, which made the stairs fairly dangerous, and a flashlight necessary.

we check in my group was split off in to two rooms when we were suppose to be together. We ask the acomodación to be fixed because we booked this hostel with a head of time months in advance but they said no. I got my things valuable stolen from me the first day and I report this to the front office and they did nothing and allowed the people in the room to check out and I have to deal with the fact my valuables items were stolen! I’m very upset and disappointed!

AWFUL!Besides the complains about facilities|staff, we're treated like garbage|s**t.We felt humiliated, stressed, insulted, offended, ashamed, inferior on our last night. They moved us to another room & we're not being notified beforehand. They put our stuff in a garbage|black plastic bag (wet towel, dirty&clean clothes, wallet, shoes) & left at the reception. Our bag w food (daily dinner&gifts) disappeared.None of the managers had the courage&professionalism to speak with us & reply the emails.
