Located on the road 7 minutes walk away to a beach with a breathtaking view of puertogalera bay, snorkeling is amazing! Rent a motorcycle and drive puerto galera from whitebeach all the way to tamaraw falls! Bahay isla inn-hostel is very clean with decent wifi. The helpful owner nenette can recommend all the places to visit. One side trip is to visit bahay isla sanctuario, in a mangrove forest, kayaking and snorkeling is an AMAZING experience!

Everything for the chilled out, low-maintenance, no-nonsense traveller. Super relaxed, a short walk or tricycle ride from Puerto Galera, the serene sandbar and accomoanying restaurants, the ferry pier, and (for party lovers) Sabang. The proprietor's family was visiting when I stayed, which only added to the charming, family-owned-family-operated vibe of the place. The pool is small but possibly the most relaxing and soothing I've ever enjoyed. Grab a drink, take a dip, forget your worries.

I had an amazing time at this hostel. The owners are really, really nice and are very helpful and honest. They brought a group of us their other property and we went kayaking in the sea and then we had a barbeque. There is a little pool/spa at the hostel too and a bar. The hostel itself is near the town and the beach and there is lots to do in the area. You can walk from the terminal in Peurto Gallera in about 10 minutes. Would definitely stay again!

Facilities great, staff however was unbelievably rude and inappropriate. When I arrived, the girl acted like I wasn’t welcome there. She kept asking if someone had “sent me”. Continuously kept asking me if and when I was going to leave the premises. I had to ask for the generator to be turned on during outage and then she shut it off with no warning whatsoever. I had to ask for a light. Chained and locked the gate and took the key home and almost made me miss the 8:15 am ferry. Ridiculous

Owners are nice people so it pains me to write this, but I was disappointed. I understand infrastructure is weak in the Philippines, but this hostel fell short of my low expectations. Rock hard beds, stained bedding, dirty bathroom (one for a 12-bed dorm), barely functioning shower, no comforter, 200p/night AC room fee, rat found outside, no drinking water except from mysteriously filled old Vodka bottles. Know decent budget hostels are rare here, but avoid this one if there are other options.
