At Capital Hostel de Ciudad you'll find different areas to share, create, collaborate, inspire and get inspired.
Common areas include:

All linen and towels are included.
Independent showers, toilets, and sinks are just a couple of steps away.

La Sabana Park is where the National Stadium and the Costa Rican Art Museum are located. The park is also a great spot for outdoors activities and sports. Fairs, festivals and special events are also often held here.

Nearby you'll find grocery stores, a small supermarket, a pharmacy, small local restaurants and international food restaurants.

Also, we are conveniently located half block from "Sabana-Estadio" bus stop, which takes you directly downtown and connects you to any other bus stop in San Jose. If you are more of a walking person, you can also get to the main downtown area within a 30-minute walk.

    Superb

Great place! Very low-key if that is what you are looking for, but also an environment that is very suitable to meeting new people. The staff were kind enough to check me in much earlier than the check in time. It was a little farther from the city center than I anticipated and takes about 25-30 minute walk, and I personally had issues putting the address into Apple Maps. But overall I could not have been happier with my stay!

Would definitely recommend staying here if you are in San Jose. Secure gate to enter with staff on duty 24/7. We had a car & parked inside the gate for free. The hostel was lovely & clean. Space in the clean fridge for our food. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils. There was a coffee machine. The bed was really comfortable & had a privacy curtain. I slept really well.

super clean, hot nice shower, super helpful staff. the ambiance wasn’t super lit, but considering that san jose is more than often a transit place and not the destination, it was totally fine by us as we could catch much zzz. also, very secure and well located!

Overall a really good modern hostel. Clean facilities & the kitchen was really good. Free cold water. Lots of helpful / useful information at the front desk. Not right in the city centre but about a 15/20 min Uber ride to the bus stations.

I stayed at this hostel before heading to the airport the next day. It was a fantastic stay - the staff members are so helpful and are around 24/7. I had a 6am flight and they were up and called a taxi for me. I really loved the curtains on the dorm beds - felt very private. Facilities are super clean. Area it is in is just okay, but I took a taxi to Barrio Escalante for taxi and it wasn’t too far or expensive.

Very clean hostel with spacious dorm and bathroom. The layout of the beds was very smart with curtains, plugs and lamps in easy reach. The ladders to the top bunks were even wide and comfy to climb. The mattress and pillow were great to sleep on. The receptionist helped us call a taxi and let us know how to get to the next location in Costa Rica. There was lots of helpful information on the walls. I’d definitely stay here again for a hostel located close to the airport.

    Fabulous

Really nice place, especially if you’re on a layover, or just passing through San Jose, as most people are. I would recommend this place, it’s not the most happening hostel, but then nowhere in San Jose is, and this place has a pool table and great facilities. Would stay again.

    Very Good

    25 May 2022
Pros: the staff are lovely, everything’s really clean and it’s an easy place to socialise with people! Cons: the WiFi isn’t good and the main thing is that there are no doors, the beds are joint with the communal area. This would be fine apart from people talking at 5/6/7am with no care of people sleeping and you can’t get away. I’ve stayed 3 times and it’s happened every time Also girls, be careful of the men in Costa Rica I’ve never been around more pervy men. Every day it happened to me

    Good

I think this hostel is highly overrated. Ok it's modern, moderately clean, and there is free coffee. But the dorms are just a big flop. What was the designer smoking on that day? It's all an open space, you can hear every single thing, from the security guy sniffling all night, and occasionally watching videos or playing games on his phone, people checking in at 6am, people activating the super noisy coffee machine during the night, and literally every single word people say in the common areas
